LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - Emily Blunt has officially turned down the role of Peggy Lee in the upcoming Captain American movie.
The British actress was offered the part of the lead female role opposite Chris Evans, but reportedly turned Marvel down because of scheduling conflicts. Blunt, who stars in The Young Victoria, is also a Golden Globe Winner.
According to the LA Times, Marvel was hoping to cast Blunt because she would have brought with her a British and European following, which critics "believe is key if you're trying to convince global audiences to see a patriotic hero named Captain America."
Actresses Keira Knightley and Alice Eve are now being considered for the role.
