MANHATTAN, New York (X17online) - Roman Polanski will soon be hearing the court's decision as to whether or not he'll be extradited to the US to be tried for his 1977 sex case.
According to a Justice Ministry spokesman, "It won't be long."
The director's lawyer had requested that he be sentenced to time served. However, back in April, a California appeals court denied that request.
Currently Polanski is under house arrest at his chateau in Gstaad. In May, the director blasted Swiss and US authorities in a scathing letter that went public.
He pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, but fled the country on the eve of final sentencing by Judge Laurence J. Rittenband in 1978.
