Dr. Laura Schlessinger Will End Her Radio Show Over Controversial Comments

MANHATTAN, New York (X17online) - Dr. Laura Schlessinger will not be renewing her contract at the end of the year to continue her radio show after she made controversial on-air comments that involved the N-word.
During the on-air conversation with an African-American caller, Dr. Laura used the N-word 11 times during a 5-minute call while discussing the issue of dealing with racist comments.
On Larry King Live, Dr. Laura, 63, made the big announcement saying that she wants to work to "regain my First Amendment right."
On her website, she released the following statement: "I was attempting to make a philosophical point, and I articulated the 'n' word all the way out -- more than one time. And that was wrong. I'll say it again -- that was wrong."
Although she is stepping away from her radio show, Dr. Laura says she will continue to work on her website and write books.

Thank goodness! This despot deserves to be put out to pasture. This was not a case of politically correct behavior, this was a case of hate speech. For those who are having difficulty with this concept, just wait, you will learn to understand as you become the minority.

Free speech is not the issue here. If the government is not restricting your speech, you have no "free speech" rights. Employers can discipline or fire you for language.
