LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Nicolas Cage has reportedly dropped out of Joel Schumacher's upcoming thriller Trespass. Cage was set to star alongside Nicole Kidman, but according to Deadline, the actor chose a vacation to the Bahamas over the film.

The shoot was going to take place in Louisiana in two weeks, but now without one of their main stars, the $35 million dollar budgeted film is scrambling to find an A-list replacement.

In the movie, a group of thieves kidnap a couple in an attempt to extort money from them. Those close to the production say that Cage switched his role ... from being part of the couple to the kidnappers' leader.

Liev Schreiber is set to now take the role of the husband. The part of the kidnappers' leader has yet to be filled.

Cage reportedly was set to make $7 million for his role.
