jeffzuckernbc200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Jeff Zucker steps down as CEO of NBC/Universal after 25 years with the network.

Although some have referred to Zucker as a "snake-oil salesman," other have credited him with reviving the Today Show. Zucker also helped the peacock network expand its internet presence by establishing a relationship with Hulu, the internet video player.

In regards to leaving NBC, Zucker recently said his biggest regret "was that we didn't move faster to fix the issues at NBC Entertainment, both from a personnel and resource standpoint."

GE chief executive Jeffrey Immelt had the following to say about Zucker:

"Jeff has been a tough-minded, inclusive and innovative leader of NBC Universal. He has always stepped up when the company needed him. He never blinked when it came to tough decisions."

One of Zucker's biggest downfalls is said to be the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien debaucle. The former NBC CEO is believed to be leaving with a parachute valued at $15 million-$20 million.
