LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Former Miss California Carrie Prejean has just announced she is expecting a baby boy with NFL quarterback husband Kyle Boller.

Prejean, 23, and Boller, 29, tied the knot this July at the Grand Del Mar Resort in San Diego. The couple told the press they began trying for a family immediately after.

"We are just so excited. I'm due in May on my grandmother's birthday. She recently passed away, so that's very special to us," Carrie revealed to FOX411.com.

Prejean became a household name in 2009, when she voiced her opinion against gay marriage during a round of questions given during the Miss USA pageant. She became first runner-up, but was later stripped of her title for allegedly violating her contract.

The baby is due May 9, 2011.
