NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - MySpace is preparing to layoff about half of their staff of roughly 1,100 employees as early as this month, in it's latest attempt to restructure the site, the Wall Street Journal reports.
MySpace recently underwent a redesign to emphasize entertainment content of music, comedy and games, as well as renewing a search deal with Google.
Sean Ryan, who had joined MySpace owner News Corp. last year, was supposed to head up a new online gaming unit for the company. Coincidentally Ryan is now moving to Facebook to oversee partnerships for the social network's gaming platform, it was reported.
A MySpace rep declined to comment.
