LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Tom Cruise is in final negations to play Stacee Jaxx, the arrogant and charming star at the top of his career who sings Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive in the theater production from the film adaptation.
New Line's adaptation of the hit stage musical centers around 1980s rockers, and Cruise has been eying the role since October. Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand are also in talks for big roles in the film, but no deals have been finalized yet.
Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment is a co-producer. Production begins in May 2011.
