LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Emile Hirsch has joined the star-studded cast of Oliver Stone's Savages.

Hirsch joins the ensemble cast, which includes John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro.

Savages is the story of two marijuana growers and their female friend, O. The growers' pot is so good that the Mexican cartel tries to hire them, and when the friends refuse, the cartel kidnaps O. No word on if Hirsch will play one of the growers.

Hirsch has been flying under the radar as of late; his last major role was in Milk in 2008. He also appeared in Taking Woodstock in 2009.

But, the star appears to be stepping up his game. He just wrapped Killer Joe with Matthew McConaughey and is filming The Motel Life with Dakota Fanning.
