LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Funnyman Jim Carrey will guest star in the season finale of NBC's The Office May 19.
The Season 7 finale is turning into an A-list episode; it will also feature guest spots by Ricky Gervais (co-creator of the series), Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano and Catherine Tate.
Reportedly, all of the guest stars will be touted as possible replacements for office boss Michael Scott, Carell's character. Will Ferrell has done a multi-episode stint on the show this season, also playing a possible replacement.
The series has been tight-lipped about who will fill Michael Scott's shoes. At recent events, series regulars Craig Robinson and Kate Flannery have both said that even they have not been told what will happen.
The episode, which is getting a special hour-long run time, airs May 19.
Carell opted to leave the show because his contract was up and he was ready to pursue other endeavors. He can next be seen in Crazy, Stupid, Love, out in July.
Carrey has Mr. Popper's Penguins out this summer. Both he and Carell have several other projects in the works.
The finale is NOT Steve Carell's last episode. He is leaving the show next week and will not be featured in the finale. The producers did this because they said they wanted viewers to get used to an Office without Michael Scott before the season ended.
