LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The firing of Charlie Sheen and the hiring of Ashton Kutcher on CBS' Two and a Half Men , could actually expand the life span of the sitcom series.
Kutcher, who signed on to replace Sheen, signed for a year, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The reason being, CBS has one more year in its deal with Warner Bros., the show's producer. When Sheen was the lead role, the show was set to end its nine-year run in 2012. But now that one of the most popular shows on television has a new lead actor, there's speculation CBS may keep the show on air past next year.
Two and a Half Men is the highest grossing shows on TV. The series has reportedly already made $1 billion from rerun rights.
