LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Fast Five blew estimates away with its opening weekend, while Disney teen treat Prom disappointed.

The fifth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise was predicted to make $60-70 million, but its weekend gross hit $83.6 million. That's the biggest opening for any of the franchise's films.

But Disney's Prom didn't get asked to the box office. Even though it was released in prime prom season and heavily marketed, the flick actually came in at less than estimates. It was predicted to make $8-9 million, but instead made just $5 million.
