LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Star Wars creator/producer/director George Lucas says he has 50 hours of a live-action TV show based on the cult hit, ready to go but is waiting for a technology breakthrough to make shooting fiscally possible.
The sci-fi mastermind previously said the highly-anticipated show, set between the Star Wars films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, has been placed on pause as his team searches "a different type of technology [they] can use so it's economically feasible to shoot the show."
He elaborated that television production is a tenth of the cost of movies, but the ability to make his series credible at that cost is nonexistent. Without providing a tentative timeline, Lucas referred to the development of a cheaper production technology “a very difficult process.”
His animated TV show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is set to come back to Cartoon Network for its fourth season this fall.
