LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Bridesmaids has thus earned $152.9 million domestically, making it me the top R-rated female comedy of all time.
The previous holder of the title was the Sex and the City movie, which earned $152.6 million in the U.S.
Universal says Bridesmaids is now the studio’s biggest romantic comedy ever.
Bridesmaids stars Kristin Wiig -- who co-wrote the script with Annie Mumolo -- Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
