aadamsmanofsteel072111_230.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The new Superman reboot, The Man of Steel, has been pushed back from its original premiere date in December 2012 to a June 14, 2013 release.

Warner Bros. says everything will still stay on schedule, with filming beginning later this summer. The added time will aid postproduction.

A studio rep didn't explain why the movie was shifted but rather pointed out that December 2012 had never been an official release date, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The reboot stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, with Zack Snyder directing and Christopher Nolan producing. Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Russell Crowe also costar in the upcoming action flick.
