LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Transformers: Dark of the Moon has become the third best worldwide debut of all time, grossing $372 million on opening weekend alone.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince holds the record for best with $394 million, followed by Spider-Man 3 at $382 million.

With July 4th itself still to go, Michael Bay’s Dark of the Moon is predicted to finish Monday with $405.8 million, though Monday does not count towards the record.

Overseas, the film has earned the biggest opening of all time in seven countries -- Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Peru.

In other records, Imax theaters playing the movie set a record at $22.5 million earned worldwide. Domestically, the movie's Friday through Sunday gross of $97.4 million is the best three-day number ever for the July 4th weekend.
