LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - After a successful stint on Dancing With The Stars last spring, Kirstie Alley is set to return to the small screen – this time for a new family comedy.

Alley will soon begin filming the pilot episode for The Manzanis, an ABC multi-camera family comedy written by Desperate Housewives writer-producers Marco Pennette and Dave Flebotte. The show will star Alley as an outspoken wife and mother whose family moves to a stuffy country-club town.

The Manzanis has been in development for two years, but was not picked up by ABC until Alley agreed to join the cast last month.
