LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - NHL player Sean Avery will not be charged for allegedly getting in an altercation with a cop at his Hollywood home.
On August 5, a noise complaint was filed against the New York Rangers winger. After local police showed up at his Los Angeles home, Avery was arrested for battery of a police officer after he reportedly shoved a cop who was at his front door. The hockey player spent five hours in jail before being released on $20,000 bail.
Now it's being reported that the cop tripped over his own feet, which witnesses have attested to, leading to the dropped charges.
Neither Avery nor the New York Rangers have commented on the incident.
