LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just announced that Oprah Winfrey will receive an Honorary Oscar.

The former talk show host is being honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her philanthropy work, especially for her efforts with the Angel Network and the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy For Girls in South Africa.

Also earning Honorary Oscars are famed actor James Earl Jones and the "Godfather of Makeup," Dick Smith. The three will collect their statuettes at the Academy's 3rd Annual Governors Awards on November 12.
