Denzel Washington Donates $2.25 Million To Fordham University

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Denzel Washington has donated $2.25 million to his alma mater, Fordham University.
$2 million will endow the Denzel Washington Chair in Theatre; Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad, best known for her role as Clair Hustable on The Cosby Show, will serve as the university’s first Chair in Theatre.
The remaining $250,000 will endow a minority undergraduate’s education in theater.
“I wanted to create the Denzel Washington Endowed Scholarship and Chair in Theatre at Fordham in order to offer the next generation of students positive influences,” Washington said in a statement.
