LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - After 23 seasons, The Simpsons may be saying goodbye.
20th Century Fox TV and the show’s voice actors are currently in contract negotiations, though it appears that no agreement has been – or will be – made.
The studio is reportedly threatening to axe the show if the leading voice actors, who each earn approximately $8 million a year, do not agree to cut their paychecks by 45%.
“We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model,” 20th Century Fox TV said in a statement released Tuesday.
