NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - Regis Philbin has said goodbye to his Live! audience after 23 years.
Philbin’s supporters came out in full force on Friday's farewell episode, including Donald Trump, Diane Sawyer, Joan Lunden, Tony Danza, Meredith Vieira, Jane Krakowski, Judge Judy, Dr. Ruth, and former co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, who came prepared with a box of tissues.
"Some people ask, 'Why has the show stayed on so long?'" Philbin said in his closing remarks. "It makes them happy," he responded. "And I'll never be able to top that."
The TV veteran is not retiring just yet, as he’ll soon be promoting his book How I Got This Way.
