Steve Jobs To Receive Posthumous Grammy

stevejobsgrammy200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Recording Academy is awarding the late Steve Jobs a posthumous Grammy.

The Apple co-founder will be recognized for his technological contributions to the arts.

“Steve Jobs helped create products and technology that transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books,” the Academy said in a statement. “A creative visionary, Jobs’ innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased.”

This year’s honorary Grammy recipients also include Diana Ross, the Allman Brothers, Antonio Carlos Jobim, George Jones, Glen Campbell, the Memphis Horns and recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder.

The 54th Grammy Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
