LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Blake Shelton’s father died Tuesday evening, putting his national tour on temporary hold.

Dick Shelton was first hospitalized with pneumonia in December and died a month later in the company of loved ones.

The Voice star has pushed his next four concerts in Montana and the Dakotas to March and will return to the stage on Jan. 26 in Georgia.

"I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers,” he wrote on his official site. “Your support means the world to me. I love you guys.”
