LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, who was scheduled to appear in multiple episodes of the CBS hit drama The Good Wife is leaving the show after sustaining an injury on the Brooklyn set last month.
"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time," Chenoweth said in a statement. "Getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern."
Chenoweth, who will appear in the season premiere, will spend time recovering from injuries she sustained during filming. The actress was injured on set when she was struck by a piece of lighting equipment from a gust of wind. She was hospitalized for one night and released the next day.
She originally booked a reoccurring role in June, in which she plays a political reporter who attempts to uncover dirt on the characters Alicia and Peter Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth, respectively.
Even though she will only appear in the season premiere, she may return to the show later in the season. "We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she's feeling better," CBS Television Studios said in a statement.
The latest updates of her recovery have come from her twitter account, where she wrote on August 8th, "Today not best 'pain' day. Remaining positive. (I think)."
The fourth season of The Good Wife will premiere on September 30th at 9pm.
