LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, 32, and his wife Cynthia, 34, welcomed a baby girl to their family on Tuesday. On his official website, Rodriguez said, "We are thrilled with the birth of our second daughter and the blessing of having two beautiful, healthy daughters in our lives."

The couple celebrated the birth of a 7-pound, 2-ounce girl in Miami late Monday night, and also on his website it was revealed that the baseball star will not be in the Yankees lineup on Tuesday or Wednesday, "as he spends time with his now expanded family. He is expected to rejoin the team Thursday in Chicago."

Rodriguez was in New York on Monday, receiving physical therapy for his injured leg, but he made it to Miami just in time for the birth of his second daughter. The Rodriguez's have another daughter, Natasha, age 3.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Alex Rodriguez's wife Cynthia filed for divorce at Miami-Dade County Family Court today, according to the New York Post.

The papers state that the marriage "is irretrievably broken because of the husband's extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct," and the Yankees star's estranged wife has asked for primary custody of their two children, use of their Coral Gables home, one of her Rodriguez's cars, and enough child support and alimony to maintain their "lavish lifestyle."

Cynthia Rodriguez has hired attorney Earle Lilly who told Houston television station KTRK the star's "relationship with Madonna was the final straw for Mrs. Rodriguez." Additionally, The Miami Herald reports that Rodriguez is also being represented by attorneys Maurice Kutner and Anthony Sabatino of Miami, and John Van Ness of Houston. Kutner told the newspaper:

"She feels that she has exhausted every opportunity to salvage the marriage, and that Alex has emotionally abandoned her and the children and has left her with no choice but to divorce him."

The couple was married on November 2, 2002, in Dallas, Texas, and they have two daughters, Natasha, 3, and Ella, who was born on April 21. It was widely reported that Alex Rodriguez has been paying visits to Madonna, and last week Cynthia flew to Paris and staying with singer Lenny Kravitz, who denied the that the two are an item, saying, "There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself."

Both Alex Rodriguez and Madonna are denying any romantic involvement, and Madonna even released the following statement online:

"My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is making a half a million dollar donation to Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi, according to the NY Daily News.

A source told the newspaper, "They've asked him for a million dollars, and I hear he's agreed to give at least $500,000." This isn't the first time Rodriguez has made a large donation; in 2003, he gave $3.9 million to the University of Miami to help build a baseball stadium.

Neither Rodriguez's representative nor a spokesperson for the charity would confirm the donation.

Rumors have run rampant for quite some time that Madonna and Rodriguez were having an affair, which led to his wife Cynthia filing for divorce in early July. Rodriguez's estranged wife even cited Madonna as a reason for the divorce, as well as emotional abandonment, but Madonna and Rodriguez have both denied any romantic involvement.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yankee's superstar Alex Rodriguez and his wife Cynthia have reached a multi-million dollar settlement in their contentious divorce proceedings, the New York "Daily News" is reporting.

"Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings," Cynthia's attorney Maurice Jay Kutner said in a statement. "They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation, which was their stated desire from the beginning. It was and remains a personal family matter for both of them. All of their decisions were based upon and guided by the best interests of their daughters."

No financial details were released, but Cynthia had been asking for spousal and child support to "maintain the high standard of living" she and the Yankee's third baseman were accustomed to. Alex had been seeking joint custody of the couple's two daughters, 3-year-old Natasha and Ella who is 5 months old. The couple also owns a multi-million dollar oceanfront home in Miami.

Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce earlier this year after media reports surfaced impling a relationship between Alex and pop singer Madonna. Both Madonna and Rodriguez denied those reports.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna and Alex Rodriguez reportedly chartered separate helicopters for a 4-hour visit to the East Hampton estate of Jerry Seinfeld, PageSix reports.

"The Seinfelds have been friends with Madonna for years. They're neighbors on the West Side, so it's really no surprise," a source told PageSix. "And Jerry and [wife] Jessica go to her concerts whenever she's in town."

Rodriguez and Madonna reportedly were seen at the airport in East Hampton, where they were picked up by the Seinfelds.

"A dark SUV and Jerry in another Porsche both pulled up and picked up Madonna and they headed back to Jerry's place," a witness told PageSix. "When they arrived at the Seinfeld home, Madonna poked her head out the window and could be clearly seen."

However, the visit to the Seinfeld's 12-acre estate didn't last long.

"About four hours later, the dark SUV left the house and took them all back to the airport. Madonna and the Seinfelds could clearly be seen getting out and piling into the copter that had taken Madonna there in the first place. They left together," the source said. "Several minutes later, the helicopter that carried A-Rod also left."

Representatives for Seinfeld and Rodriguez refused to confirm the story, while Madonna's spokesperson said she was unaware of the meeting.

Saturday night, X17online spotted the Yankee's slugger in the high stakes poker section at LA's Commerce Casino.

A-Rod was playing $10/$20 No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em at a table where players routinely wager as much as $10K per session.

"Alex is a good player," a witness told X17online. "He likes to play in the high stakes games when he's in town."

Alex appeared to be having a good time, he was talking with fellow players and signed autographs for fans.

A-Rod's poker playing has caused some problems in the past. In 2005, Rodriguez was cautioned by the Yankees after he was spotted in an illegal poker club in NYC with poker pro Phil Hellmuth.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Alex Rodriguez and Madonna both made trips to Mexico City this weekend.

Madonna brought her concert tour to the Mexican Capital, while Rodriguez was there to inaugurate a new children's sports center.

While it's not clear if the two spent any time together, when asked what he thought about being in the city at the same time as Madonna, Rodriguez said it was "very good," without further explanation.

Rodriguez spent two hours Sunday teaching children to bat at a new sports center built on a landfill in the poor suburb of Nezahualcoyotl while Madonna prepared to perform for a sold-out second night in Mexico City as part of her "Sticky & Sweet" tour.

Rodriguez and his wife divorced in September, months after he made headlines for a rumored, but denied, affair with Madonna.

Less than four weeks later, Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie announced their own split after nearly eight years of marriage.
