Beyonce To Perform on 'TRL' Finale

Beyonce Knowles Beyonce200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Beyonce Knowles will perform on the final episode of MTV's 'Total Request Live' November 16th, the network is reporting.

Knowles, who has made a number of high profile appearance on the show, says she owes a lot to the video countdown show which premiered in 1998.

"I can remember being 16 or 17 when they asked us to be on the show, and it was our big moment," she told host Damien Fahey. Although she looks back on the memory fondly, she admits that seeing a teen version of herself was weird. "It's not cool to document your moments at 17," she joked.

Tuesday's episode was dedicated to counting down the singer's greatest video achievements. Even the pop star said it was crazy to see how far she's come over the last decade. "I mean, I dreamed [I would have this kind of success], but I never thought it would be a reality," the former Destiny's Child front-woman said on the show.

Beyonce Postpones Concert In Malaysia After Protest Threats

beyoncepostpones200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Beyonce Knowles has postponed a concert in Malaysia after protests from Muslim conservatives in the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party. The group is concerned that the concert would be immoral and promote "Western sexy performances."

Beyonce was supposed to perform at a venue in Kuala Lumpur on October 25, and the event's organizer released a statement confirming that a future date would be announced shortly, according to Access Hollywood. “The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons,” the statement read.

When performing in Malaysia, government rules require female artists to cover up from their shoulders to their knees, with absolutely no cleavage showing. Last month, the event organizer, Marctensia addressed concerns over Beyonce's typically risque wardrobe, saying “all parties have come to an amicable understanding” about costumes.

Jay-Z And Beyonce Top-Earning Couple In Entertaiment

beyoncejayzearners200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Jay-Z and Beyonce have been named the top-earning couple in entertainment, raking in an estimated $122 million combined between June of 2008 and June of 2009.

And it was Beyonce who out-earned her hubby by more than double, bringing home $87 million to his $35 million.

The duo, who not only churn out hits on the Billboard charts, earn major bucks through deals with American Express, Budweiser, and, of course, their own fashion, alcohol and nightclub endeavors.

A distant second on the annual Forbes list was quite a surprise: Harrison Ford and his girlfriend Calista Flockhart brought in $69 million ($65 of that coming from his Indiana Jones payday), while Brangelina broke the top three with $55 million, thanks to their busy year.

Will & Jada Pinkett Smith and David & Victoria Beckham round out the top five.

China Bans Lady Gaga And Beyoncé, Among Others

ladygaga200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - China’s Ministry of Culture has posted a list of 100 songs that will be banned in the country beginning September 15, including Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls).”

The ministry is demanding that the songs be removed from Chinese websites because they had not been submitted for mandatory government screening, which is intended to protect China’s “national cultural security” by filtering out imported entertainment content that contains subversive political or ideological messages.

Sites that do not comply with the new rule will be prosecuted, though the penalties were not specified.

Other songs on the ban list include: Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way,” Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night,” and Britney Spears’s “Burning Up.”

Beyonce's Pregnancy Lights Up Twitter, Affects VMA Ratings?

BeyonceTWit200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) -- Beyonce's pregnancy news may have helped make the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards the most watched ever.

Speculation is growing that a combination of Twitter and singer Beyonce Knowles' pregnancy reveal may have helped Sunday night's VMAs in the ratings.

When news broke online that Beyonce had shown up on the red carpet with a baby bump, buzz spread quickly via Twitter -- breaking the site's records. 8,868 tweets were sent out per second -- that beats news of Osama Bin Laden’s death in May, which drew in 5,106 tweets per second, and the Super Bowl, which earned 4,064 tweets.

Such buzz may have spurred people to tune into the show in hopes of catching a glimpse of Knowles' pregnant belly, which she revealed a second time during her performance.

The VMAs do not air live in all time zones, but West Coasters could have seen the headlines and adjusted their viewing plans.

MTV was Twitter-heavy on this year's VMAs, with a host devoted to Tweets and monitoring which celebs were Tweeting about the show via a graphic of the audience and where celebs were sitting.

Still, Forbes argues that Twitter isn't having an affect -- especially because only 13 percent of Americans use the site (though it doesn't examine specific demographics.)

Also factoring into viewership of this year's awards show were Lady Gaga's opening performance, the promise of a sneak peek of the highly anticipated Hunger Games movie (sneak peeks of Twilight have helped the MTV Movie Awards in past) and Hurricane Irene on the East Coast, which might have spurred viewers to stay home and watch TV instead of going out.

Sony Pictures has preemptively picked up the film, which Murphy plans to direct and co-write, after he completes filming the AIDS drama The Normal Heart, starring Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, and Jim Parsons.

Although the stars are tentatively attached, no deals have been inked yet and Sony had no comment regarding the acquisition.
