LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Cameron Diaz's father Emilio Diaz died from pneumonia today (Tuesday, April 15, 2008), reports say.

Diaz, 58, was suffering from influenza, which turned into pneumonia.

Filming on Cameron Diaz's film, My Sister's Keeper, was halted.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X17 just obtained a statement from Cameron Diaz's publicist, Brad Cafarelli regarding the passing of her father, Emilio Diaz:

“My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family. My dad was loved by so many people and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts.”

Diaz is currently shooting My Sister's Keeper, and a publicist for the New Line Cinema film told X17 that though Diaz was not present yesterday, "we did not shut down production," and "we shot scenes that did not involve Cameron." Production was shut down today, but this was due to the illness of another actor, and it had "nothing to do with Cameron."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A memorial service for Cameron Diaz's late father, Emilio was held in Seal Beach, California on Sunday, April 20, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Two of Diaz's former boyfriends, John Mayer and Justin Timberlake were there to offer their condolences to the actress, who lost her father last week. Tropical flowers were unloaded from a van and brought inside prior to the service, and the guests began to arrive around noon, some wearing leis and Hawaiian clothing.

Emilio Diaz, 58, passed away last Tuesday, April 15 from pneumonia. Cameron released the following statement last week: "My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family. My dad was loved by so many people and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts."

In lieu of flowers, the Diaz family asked that donations be made in Emilio's name on Surfrider.org or Reefcheck.org.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Cameron Diaz stunned bystanders at the Santa Monica Pier yesterday (May 21) when she took a break from shooting the upcoming film My Sister's Keeper and revealed a bald head. Diaz didn't actually shave her head, instead she donned a prosthetic cap to hide her hair, but the look is dramatic for the 35 year old blonde beauty.

The plot of My Sister's Keeper follows Anna (played by Abigail Breslin), who was conceived in-vitro as a kidney donor match for her elder sister, Kate (played by Sofia Vassilieva). Anna ends up suing her parents for the right to make her own decisions about how her body is used when she learns of the planned kidney transplant. Diaz will play Anna’s mother, a former defense attorney, who returns to the courtroom to defend herself and her husband when their daughter sues them.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - Cameron Diaz and How I Met Your Mother's Jason Segel are set to star together in Columbia Pictures' upcoming comedy Bad Teacher.

The storyline is centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague -- a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher.

The part of the model teacher has yet to be cast. Segel is set to play a gym teacher while Diaz will play the main character named Elizabeth Halsey. Details surrounding her character have been kept under wraps.

Bad Teacher will begin filming next month in Los Angeles with a scheduled release date for 2012.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - Shrek fans won't have to wait much longer to see their favorite green ogre in action.

The fourth installment, Shrek Forever After will premiere on April 21 in NYC.

But the family-friendly movie, which will be in 3D, won't be hitting theaters first. The DreamWorks Animation feature will be the opening night film at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. This isn't the first time a Shrek movie has played at a festival. The first two installments were seen at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film will be voiced by an all-star cast including Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Megan Fox and Antonio Banderas. Mike Mitchell will direct.

Shrek Forever After will be released nationwide on May 21.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Cameron Diaz will star in the remake of 1966's Gambit which originally starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine.

Colin Firth, also starring in the film, plays an art curator from London who is planning to con an art collector into buying a fake Monet. Diaz, a Texas steer roper, will be enlisted to help Firth in the scam.

The new film, produced by Mike Lobell and Crime Scene Pictures, will begin shooting in London this May.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Horrible Bosses didn't have a horrible weekend at the box office.

The R-rated comedy, starring Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey, opened to $28.1 million, easily outpacing expectations. The flick cost just $37 million to produce.

Though it was a big win for Horrible Bosses, it still came in second to Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The action-adventure juggernaut has now grossed $261 million domestically and is the number two movie of the year behind Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Kevin James' newest movie, Zookeeper, also opened this weekend, coming in third with $21 million.

Cars 2 and Bad Teacher rounded out the top 5. The Pixar flick grossed $26.9 million this weekend, for a total of $121.6 million domestically since its opening, while the Cameron Diaz comedy rang in another $9 million, making its total $78.8 million.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Beyonce are attached to star in One Hit Wonders, a musical comedy pitch from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy.

Diaz, Paltrow, and Witherspoon are set to play singers who reached the height of their fame in the 1990s, who then team up in an effort to regain their fame and popularity.

Sony Pictures has preemptively picked up the film, which Murphy plans to direct and co-write, after he completes filming the AIDS drama The Normal Heart, starring Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, and Jim Parsons.

Although the stars are tentatively attached, no deals have been inked yet and Sony had no comment regarding the acquisition.
