Carrie Underwood To Return To Fox For A Holiday Special

carrievar200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Carrie Underwood will return to the network that launched her career, as she has signed on to do a two-hour variety special on Fox tentatively titled Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special.

Carrie will perform her previous hits, holiday classics and songs from her upcoming album, and she'll even participate in comedy bits, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and last year's American Idol winner David Cook will join Carrie, and the special will air on December 7.

Carrie Underwood Set To Make Her Big Screen Debut In Bethany Hamilton Biopic

carriefilm200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Country music star Carrie Underwood will be joining Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt and AnnaSophia Robb in the indie drama Soul Surfer, which tells the story of shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton.

Variety reports that Robb will play Hamilton, the teenage girl who defied all odds when she won a professional surf competition after losing her arm in a shark attack at age 13. Quaid and Hunt play her parents, and Underwood has sign on for the role of a church youth leader.

Carrie Underwood Wins Big At CMT Awards

underwood200.jpgNASHVILLE, Tennessee (X17online) - Carrie Underwood took home multiple awards at last night's CMT Music Awards.

In front of a packed house at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, Underwood accepted the award for Video of the Year for Cowboy Casanova and Performance of the Year for Temporary Home.

While accepting one of her statues, Underwood addressed the fans saying:

    "They were there before I had anything, an album, a record deal, a tour or anything like that. They built me from the ground up."

Other winners included, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert.

Carrie Underwood Wins Big At First-Annual American Country Awards

cunderwood200.jpgLAS VEGAS, Nevada (X17online) - Carrie Underwood was the biggest winner of the night, taking home five awards at the first-ever American Country Awards, held in Las Vegas Monday.

The country superstar took home Album of the Year, Female Single of the Year, Touring Headline Package of the Year, Female Music Video of the Year, and the biggest award of the night: Artist of the Year.

The show was entirely based on fan voting, and the winners were given Fender guitars as awards.

Other winners included: Toby Keith, winner of the Video Visionary of the Year Award,
Lady Antebellum scored with Group of the Year honors, as well as Group Video of the Year, and Group Single of the Year. Blake Shelton picked up two awards for his Hillbilly Bone video. Alan Jackson was honored with the Greatest Hits Award, and Rascal Flatts grabbed the Decade Award.

Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood Win Big At American Country Awards

underwoodacm200.jpgLAS VEGAS, Nevada (X17online) - Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood came out on top at Monday night’s American Country Awards.

Aldean took home six trophies at the fan-voted awards show, including artist of the year and record of the year for My Kinda Party.

"This is getting a little ridiculous now," Aldean said upon receiving his second award. "I don't know what else to say. It's been a crazy year."

Underwood, the top winner at last year’s ceremony, nabbed three awards this time around, including female artist of the year, music video of the year (“Mama’s Song”), and single of the year by a female artist (“Mama’s Song”).

Kristin Chenoweth and Trace Adkins hosted Monday night’s awards show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
