Farrah Fawcett Free Of Cancer, Rep Tells X17

Farrah Fawcett FFAWCETTRONEAL042708_200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X17online published exclusive photos, yesterday (April 28), of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal playing Frisbee on the beach in Malibu over the weekend and we showed these shots to her interim manager and the producer/director of her reality series Chasing Farrah and here's the great news he told X17 exclusively:

"At the moment Farrah has no detectable cancer. And while she is feeling good she remains cautious in her optimism because she knows that with cancer, the real test is time ..."

Also filming the documentary A Wing and A Prayer with Farrah, Craig Nevius was definitely cautiously optimistic, but the news was positive.

After two rounds of extensive chemotherapy, the Charlie's Angels beauty - who's been battling the vicious disease since late 2006 - is now looking better than ever and, apparently, feeling better than she has in quite a while.

UCLA Medical Worker Charged With Selling Confidential Celebrity Files To The Media

Farrah Fawcett FFAWCETT040708.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Smoking Gun reports that Lawanda Jackson, 49, a former employee of the UCLA Medical Center was indicted today for allegedly accessing confidential medical records of numerous celebrity patients and selling them to a "national media outlet," according to a federal indictment.

The United States District Court indictment states that a media outlet paid Jackson at least $4600 for the private information. The indictment does not state which media outlet it was, though it is widely suspected that the National Enquirer was paying for the medical information, according to the Smoking Gun. The indictment doesn't reveal which celebrities had their confidentiality breached, though The Los Angeles Times reported that Jackson allegedly reviewed the records of 33 well-known patients, including actress Farrah Fawcett and Maria Shriver, wife of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Jackson was charged with obtaining the private information between 2006 and May 21, 2007, the date which she was terminated from her position as an administrative specialist at the UCLA Medical Center. If convicted of a felony charge of illegally obtaining individually identifiable health information for commercial advantage, Jackson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Farrah Fawcett Not Near Death, Friend Says

FawcettWire200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A spokesperson for Farrah Fawcett is denying rumors that the former Charlie's Angels is near death.

"On Farrah Fawcett’s behalf, I can confirm that she recently checked into a Los Angeles hospital. And although it is usually against her nature to correct false or exaggerated stories that originate in tabloid style reports by offering true information that those ‘journalists’ would not otherwise have to publish.

"Farrah is allowing this statement out of appreciation for her fans, who have offered their constant support throughout her fight, as well as out of concern for the countless of other cancer patients who have written to her to say that they are following her story in the hope that there is hope. Tonight, Farrah has hope and she hopes that others will continue to hold onto theirs. In spite of what they read."

The statement comes from Craig Nevis, a producer who hase worked with Fawcett in the past. Reports say he believes Fawcett will be released from the hospital in a few days.

Fawcett, 62, has been battling cancer for the last three years.

How Farrah Proved UCLA Was Leaking Her Medical Information

FarrahUCLA200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Farrah Fawcett says a real-life sting operation helped identify the UCLA hospital worker who was selling her private medical information to The National Enquirer.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Fawcett lashes out at the hospital for failing to protect her privacy and claims UCLA repeatedly pressured her to donate money for the creation of a foundation in her name.

Fawcett said the leak of information about her treatment for anal cancer made the process even more difficult.

"People call, 'How are you?' 'How do you feel?' 'We're praying for you.' Do you still have your hair?' ... When every single call is that kind of call ... it's all you talk about. It's all-consuming. Then, your quality of life is never the same," Fawcett told the paper.

Farrah says she was "never more sure of anything in [her] life" that somehow information about her illness was being leaked from UCLA. So when doctors discovered that her cancer had returned, she decided to keep the information from her friends and family.

Fawcett had the proof she was looking for when the news appeared in the Enquirer four days later. It was later discovered that an administrative worker had been selling the information to the Enquirer. UCLA says it has changed the way it handles private patient information and new laws have been passed to protect patients.

The public's facination with the story is understandable. "Particularly when it's something sexy or scandalous, or on the negative side, something kind of tragic and sad, for whatever reason, the public is interested in those types of stories," said X17online's own Brandy Navarre.

"I think it's really just an American icon and the public's love of this woman and the nostalgia and everything around her," Navarre said.

Meantime, the Charlie's Angels star's condition continues to deteriorate. Ryan O'Neal told People Magazine the cancer has spread to Farrah's liver, she's bedridden and has lost of all of her hair.

Ryan O'Neal Talks About Farrah's Final Days

FawcettFinalDays200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Farrah Fawcett seemed to be winning the battle against cancer for the first two years of her fight against the disease.

"She was very athletic and healthy and hungry and beautiful," Ryan O'Neal told Meredith Vieira on NBC's "Today." He says, "Everything was just as you remember about her."

But then her condition suddenly started to deteriorate. The realization happened during family walk near their home in Malibu.

"We used to take that wlak all the time to the rocks and back. And halfway there she stopped and said, 'Can we go back?' And Red and I looked at each other and we knew that..." O'Neal trails off.

O'Neal also talked about the last visit the couple's 24-year-old son Redmond had with his mother - a visit that was made possible by a special release from jail where the younger O'Neal is serving time for drug charges.

O'Neal says his son was brought to the house in shackles and handcuffs, "like he was John Dillinger."

"When you go into her," O'Neal told his son, "don't rattle your chains." O'Neal tells Vieira that Fawcett didn't know her son was in custody and that, "she just held him."

NBC will be airing a two-hour documentary this Friday titled "Farrah's Story," a video diary about her fight against cancer.

Farrah Fawcett Has Had A "Terrible" Year, Says Ryan O'Neal

farrahryan200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - On Friday, NBC will air "Farrah's Story," a two hour documentary that the "Charlie's Angels" actress began filming when she was first diagnosed with cancer in September of 2006.

The doc gives viewers an inside look at Fawcett's struggle over the past three years, and "The Today Show" aired several clips this morning.

Ryan O'Neal sat down with "Today" co-host Meredith Vieira to discuss the documentary. He tells her about Fawcett's battle with cancer, "I think she may have believed that she would survive. That's not how it's going. She's had a terrible time in the last year, a terrible time."

On Fawcett's determination to document her journey, O'Neal added, "There were times that she got terribly ill and began to vomit. She didn't care. She was possessed. She's been on film all her life, since she was 19 or 20, you know. So, I guess, no big deal."

O'Neal also opened up about his troubled son Redmond, telling Viera, "He's in jail so much," but he added that mother and son do share a strong bond, as evident in their recent visit. Ryan was temporarily released from jail to visit his mother at home, and O'Neal says, "He just wanted to see her, to hold her, to apologize. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgave him."

X17 XCLUSIVE - Suing Mad Farrah Doc Producer: "I want Farrah's story to be Farrah's story."

farrahprod200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The producer of the documentary, "Farrah's Story," which airs on NBC tonight, told X17online in an exclusive statement, the lawsuit he filed Wednesday against Ryan O'Neal, Alana Stewart and O'Neal's business manager over their alleged interference in the production is motivated simply by a need to get his and Farrah's original vision to the public.

Producer Craig Nevius is suing the group to regain control over the film, and is seeking damages as a result of their alleged interference. He also claims that he was physically threatened by O'Neal. O'Neal et al. have told the public that they were "shocked" by this turn of events.

In an XCLUSIVE statement to X17online, Craig Nevius says:

A spokesperson for some of the defendants has expressed that they were shocked and surprised by this suit and question my motivation. There was no reason for them to be shocked. They were given notice that this was coming if we could not reach an understanding regarding Farrah's Story.

And as for my motivation? This is not about money. This is not about ego. This is not about anything but Farrah. I was entrusted with overseeing this very personal project. I am not only her collaborator but her friend. I want Farrah's vision to be seen and her voice to be heard. I want her dignity to be protected. I want Farrah's Story to be Farrah's story.

To date, no announcements have been made by NBC to halt the airing of the show tonight.

BREAKING NEWS - Farrah Fawcett Dead at 62

FarrahDead200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Farrah Fawcett, who became an icon for a generation with a famous swimsuit poster that hung on the walls of millions of teenaged boys, died this morning at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica.

Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in February of 2006 and began receiving treatment at UCLA hospital in Los Angeles. An administrative worker was discovered to have been selling Fawcett's medial information to The National Enquirer. The worker was fined and charges were filed, however the UCLA employee died of cancer before the trial.

On Farrah's 60th birthday, the associated press reported the actress was cancer-free. However, in 2007, the cancer returned and metastasized to her liver. She sought alternative treatments in Germany before returning to her home in Malibu.

Fawcett shot to stardom in the 1970s as Jill Munroe on Charlie's Angeles. Her TV debut coincided with the release of her iconic swimsuit poster which sold an amazing 12 million copies. Her distinctive feathered hair style became the look of the decade and an international style known simply as "the Farrah."

Later in her career, Fawcett earned praise as a serious actress. She earned Emmy nominations for her roles in The Burning Bed and Extremities.

Fawcett was divorced from Lee Majors and since 1982 has been romantically linked with Ryan O'Neal. The couple had one son, Redmond, who has struggled through drug addiction and spent time in jail.

Fawcett was 62 years old.

Farrah Leaves $6 Million To Troubled Son

FarrahWill200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Farrah Fawcett reportedly has left her entire $6 million dollar estate to her only son, Redmond O'Neal.

Redmond, 24, is currently in a Los Angeles jail where he is awaiting trial on drug charges. He has had a string of arrests and been in jail several times on drug charges.

According to the UK's Daily Star, the money will be held in a trust and Redmond will be given a monthly allowance.

"Farrah appointed two trustees to make sure the money helps her son sober up rather than giving him the means to destroy himself," a source told the paper. "Redmond's inheritance will be tightly controlled."

According to the terms of Fawcett's will, her longtime companion, actor Ryan O'Neal will not receive any money from her estate.

Fawcett, 62, died from cancer in Santa Monica on June 25th.

Farrah Fawcett's Estate Under Fire

fawcett200.jpgLOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) New controversy surrounding Farrah Fawcett's estate is brewing ... this time involving accusations that the late actress' money is being mishandled.

Producer Craig Nevius has filed a lawsuit claiming that the estate's trustee is witholding money from some of the beneficiaries. This claim is in direct response to a lawsuit filed this past January by trustee Richard B. Francis against Nevius.

Craig Nevius tells X17online exclusively:

"I regret having to do any of this. But I am, at all times, honoring Farrah's expressed wishes and doing what she would expect me to do -- or would do herself if she could.

That's why, in the name of Farrah Fawcett, I am publicly calling on the Attorney General to investigate the 'Farrah Fawcett Foundation' and interview a handful of Farrah’s trusted friends and associates with respect to Farrah’s knowledge and intent regarding this so-called 'charity.'

And I would suggest that the Attorney General start with interviewing Farrah's father and Kate Jackson. I will be happy to give him a longer list in private."

The new filing also mentions actor Ryan O'Neal and Farrah's friend Alana Stewart, both of whom worked on NBC's documentary, Farrah's Story.

Last year, Nevius sued O’Neal, Stewart and Francis claiming that the documentary was made against Farrah's wishes and that he was cut out of the making of the program.

Howard Weitzman, who represents Farrah's estate and O’Neal, Stewart and Francis released this statement, “I’m confident the truth will all come out during the course of the litigation. I’ve read Mr. Nevius’ response to our complaint which I think contains spurious and outrageous allegations.”

Farrah Fawcett died on June 25 from anal cancer at the age of 62.

Ryan O'Neal Donates Farrah Fawcett's Red Swimsuit To The Smithsonian

farrah_fawcett200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The iconic swimsuit worn by the late Farrah Fawcett in the now-legendary pinup poster, which sold over 12 million copies in 1976, was donated by Ryan O'Neal Wednesday to the Smithsonian Institution's popular culture history collections.

"If you were to list 10 images that are evocative of American pop culture, Farrah Fawcett would be one of them. That poster became one of the defining images of the 1970s," Robert Thompson, a professor of television and popular culture at Syracuse University, told The Times.

Fawcett's long time love O'Neal was at the 1976 poster shoot when it was taken. He also included an original copy of the poster, a leather-bound book of the actress' personal copies of scripts for the first season of Charlie's Angels, magazines with her on the cover, a Farrah doll, a Farrah jigsaw puzzle and a Farrah's Glamour Center hairstyling toy.

The Charlie's Angels star died of cancer at age 62 on June 25, 2009, shortly before news broke the same day Michael Jackson had passed.

redmondo200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Redmond O’Neal has been taken into custody after admitting to drug use while on probation.

The troubled son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett had been ordered to one year of inpatient rehab treatment and five years of probation in August after pleading no contest to felony gun and heroin possession charges.

O’Neal subsequently admitted to using methamphetamines at the treatment facility on Thursday morning after LA Superior Court Judge Keith I. Schwartz received a letter from its faculty regarding the violation.

“Redmond accepts 100 percent responsibility for his misstep and will accept whatever consequences the court imposes,” his lawyer Richard Pintal said.

O’Neal will return to court on October 7 for sentencing.
