Jimmy Kimmel Live Goes Dark Due To Power Outage

kimmel200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A power outage shut down the control room, tape operations area and broadcast transmission center at yesterday's taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Jimmy's publicist tells the Associated Press that the talk show host grabbed his laptop and used the webcam to record the whole show.

The guests that were booked, Seth Rogen and John Henson, had no problem "going with what happened," according to the AP.

The source of the outage has not been determined.

"Flying Rabbi" Sues Jimmy Kimmel Over YouTube Video

Kimmelrabbi200.jpgNEW YORK, New York (X17online) - Jimmy Kimmel performed a short video sketch back in August spoofing Lebron James's consultation with rabbi-to-the-stars Yishayahu Yosef Pinto.

Kimmel told viewers he had also met with Pinto, and proceeded to play a video edited to make it seem as if the talk-show host was listening to an Orthodox Jew on a Yiddish tirade.

Dovid Sandek, a Brooklyn resident known as "The Flying Rabbi", saw the video and has just filed a lawsuit against Kimmel for illegally copying his likeness. Sandek is technically not a Rabbi, but there are several videos on the Internet posted by the Brooklyn man, which appear similar to the comedian's sketch.

"Jimmy Kimmel has caused me difficulty and pain. Now they think I'm a joke, a comedian," Sandek expressed to the Post.

Jimmy Kimmel Set To Host 2012 Emmy Awards

jimmylive_200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Jimmy Kimmel will host the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, set to air Sept. 23 on ABC.

The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! takes over hosting duties from Glee's Jane Lynch. Kimmel is no rookie when it comes to hosting, as he has already taken the reigns for the ESPYs, American Music Awards, and ABC's After-Oscar special.

The show will once again be held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and will be executive produced by Don Mischner.

The funnyman is already pulling out the jokes! "I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars," he joked about Murphy's cancellation of Oscar hosting duties after director Brett Ratner pulled out of producing the show.

In the meantime, Kimmel is set to emcee the White House Correspondent's Dinner in Washington D.C next month.
