LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Jude Law visited the UNAMA office in Kabul, Afghanistan yesterday to promote Peace Day on September 21. The actor has been filming King Conqueror in nearby Turkey, and took some time to get involved in the annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence.

Last year, Peace Day was used to allow polio vaccinators to reach 1.4 million Afghan children in insurgency-hit areas, and similar efforts expected this year.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - New details are emerging about the woman who Jude Law recently confirmed is pregnant with his child.

Samantha Burke, 24, is a model from New Jersey who met Law while he was in New York filming Sherlock Holmes.

According to Burke's profile on ModelMayhem.com, she is "passionate about fashion and photography, but of course I just love to be in front of the camera."

The soon-to-be mom reveals that she hopes some day to be a full-time model and actress.

On Wednesday, Jude Law's publicist confirmed the paternity of Burke's child, but said the British actor no longer had a relationship with the baby's mother.

Various newspapers are reporting Burke has retained an attorney to ensure she receives adequate child support payments. Law said he will "do everything he can as a father."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Samantha Burke, the New Jersey woman who came forward recently claiming she is pregnant with actor Jude Law's child, showed off her growing baby bump in a series of self-portraits posted on the web.

The 24-year-old model/aspiring actress was living in Jersey City when she Law, while he was in New York shooting the upcoming film "Sherlock Holmes."

Lawyers for both the Law and Burke confirm that the baby is in fact the actor's, and that he is committed to supporting the child, a girl due in October.

MANHATTAN, New York (X17online) - Jude Law has officially been added to the cast of Martin Scorsese's upcoming 3D movie, Hugo Cabret.

The movie will also star Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen. Production began just yesterday in London and filming will also take place in Paris.

The movie is based on Brian Selznick's bestselling 2007 book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret.

Both Scorsese and Johnny Depp are producers on Cabret which is expected to hit theaters in December 2011.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Sadie Frost, who was married to Jude Law for six years, is writing an autobiography called Crazy Days.

The book, being published next month, will discuss her post-natal depression and how her marriage ended with Law. Reportedly her breakup with Law, 37, caused her to check into a California mental institution for a week.

In the book, Frost, 45, writes:

"Jude tried to understand, but the more we had to socialise at grand dinner parties in Hollywood, the more I felt my self-esteem slipping away. Soon I admitted defeat and went to see a doctor, who diagnosed PND and put me back on medication. The more I worried about my condition, the more self-obsessed I became and the less attention I gave to Jude."

Law tried to stop production on the book, however last month, the once married couple reached a court settlement.

The couple split in 2003 after Jude was caught having an affair with the nanny. Law is currently dating actress Sienna Miller.

CANNES, France (X17online) - Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman and Jude Law are among the just-announced Cannes Film Festival jury members.

The 2011 Festival de Cannes starts May 11 with an opening ceremony featuring the jurors and runs through May 22. De Niro is serving as jury president.

The fest is always a star-studded event. This year, Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, starring Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson, Michael Sheen and Adrien Brody, is the opening night film. Also showing are The Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz and the Jodie Foster-directed The Beaver starring Mel Gibson.
