Lauren Conrad aug82008_1005_lg.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - In the next issue of Entertainment Weekly, MTV reality television star Lauren Conrad reveals that the upcoming season of The Hills might be the last.

Conrad tells the magazine, ''Every season, I think it's the last. Right now, I think this is the last season. I go through phases when I've been filming where I wake up in the middle of the night and I think I'm being filmed." However, the show has been pulling in huge numbers for the network, and executive producer Adam DiVello says he can see the show going at least one more season, but ideally he would "love to stay with it until Lauren gets married.''

Lauren Conrad Signs A Three-Book Deal With HarperCollins

Lauren Conrad LConrad053108_01.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lauren Conrad has inked a deal with HarperCollins to write a three-book series, loosely based on her life as a reality television star.

Conrad tells People magazine, "The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities. I'm not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren't really mine to tell. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life, but it is in no way calling anyone out."

Lauren Conrad Launches New Fashion Line

LaurenFashion200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lauren Conrad is trying once again to make in the fashion industry, this time launching a lower priced line that will be available at Kohl's stores.

Lauren tells the Us magazine that her new collection, called LC Lauren Conrad "is a California chic line. It is a little more casual. They are basically trying to take that California style and make it accessible everywhere."

And it looks like the reality TV star is getting a little more realistic in her price range too - the apparel will run from $20 to $60 per piece.

On her decision to put the brakes on the pricier line and focus on a more economical clothing collection, Lauren said, "It was just kind of a battle I had because I wanted to do a higher-end line - I wanted to do a contemporary line - but I was also very aware that the reason I was able to do it at such a young age was because of fans that have supported the show and have supported me."

Screen Rights To Lauren Conrad's Bestselling Book Acquired By Twilight Producers

laurenconradlacandy.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lauren Conrad's bestselling novel, LA Candy, about a young woman who moves to LA and finds fame as the star of a reality show, is being developed as a feature film by the executive producers of the wildly successful Twilight series.

Variety reports that Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey were enchanted by Lauren's pitch. "We loved her take," Bowen said. "Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”

So that means, if the film gets made, we'll be watching a scripted movie about a fake reality star who has cameras follow her around during every aspect of her carefully scripted life.

How is that any different than The Hills?

Whitney Port Confirms MTV's The City Is Canceled

wport102410_01_200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Whitney Port has just announced that The City will be canceled after it's two season run on MTV. This announcement follows months of speculation that The Hills spin-off would not be renewed due to a massive slip in the show's ratings.

"As of right now it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," Port told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning. When Ryan asked if there was a possibility that the show might move to a different network, she replied, "No, at this point it's not."

Despite The City's end, Whitney will keep herself occupied with other projects, revealing, "I'm working on some other things. It's okay, one door closes and another opens."

Earlier this month Whitney's former Hills co-star Lauren Conrad announced that she will be returning to MTV with a new reality show that follows the LA Lady as she builds a new fashion house from scratch. Conrad will also help produce the show, which will include several former Hills stars. No word yet on whether Whitney Port will make an appearance.
