LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna has plans to build a school for girls in Malawi, according to OK! Magazine. X17online contacted a representative for Madonna, but calls were not immediately returned.

Her lawyer told the magazine, "A task force of four prominent Malawians has already been formed to head the project which will be on the scale of what Oprah Winfrey has in South Africa. It is a multi-million dollar project and we will get the real costs in the next two weeks."

According to the magazine, the pop superstar is currently awaiting approval from the Malawi government to approve the adoption of David Banda, her two year old son. This Thursday, it is expected the adoption will become official, and though Madonna won't be present at the hearing, David’s sole surviving parent has endorsed the adoption.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna and Britney Spears are about to be the newest subjects of sordid tell-all books, according to the New York Post.

Madonna's brother, Christopher Ciccone, has signed on with Simon Spotlight Entertainment, a division of Simon & Schuster, to write a book revealing the intimate and private details of his sister's life. The pop superstar and her brother reportedly had a falling out shortly after Madonna married director Guy Richie. A source told the newspaper, "It's extremely graphic and devastating. He wrote it on the sly without telling Madonna. They want to put it out before her lawyers can get a hold of it." The book is scheduled for release next month.

Britney Spears is also the subject of a expose by investigative reporter Ian Halperin, who is aiming to shop around Stalking Britney: Under Siege with Britney Spears to publishers next week. The book reveals "details of at least two suicide attempts by the troubled star," as well as allegations of substance abuse by a drug dealer.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though it's been rumored for weeks that Madonna is in talks with a divorce attorney, The UK Times confirms that the singer has hired Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who helped Paul McCartney retain all but $50 million of his $1.6 billion fortune.

Madonna, 49, is estimated to be worth $600 million and is reportedly seeking legal advice from Shackleton on a possible divorce from her husband of seven years, film director Guy Ritchie, 39.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though Madonna's spokesperson is vehemently denying claims that Madonna and Guy Richie's marriage is over, new reports have surfaced that Madonna has been spending time with Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. Madonna's spokeswoman insists that the athlete and the singer are "just friends," but Rodriguez has reportedly been paying visits to Madonna's apartment, according to a source for Us Weekly, and after the birth of his second daughter back in April, "Alex literally left 10 minutes after the baby was born, and then was at Madonna's."

Additionally, a source tells the magazine that Rodriguez's wife Cynthia "doesn't believe they are just friends," and that she left "because she is sure this is all true." The New York Post reports that the baseball star's five year marriage is over, and that Cynthia is currently in Paris with the couple's two daughters staying with Madonna's ex, singer Lenny Kravitz. Kravitz denies that the two are an item, telling Us Weekly:

"There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself. This is unequivocally 100% not true. Cynthia is a friend and is here with the godfather of her baby, who is also Alex's trainer, his wife and their baby girl. She came here to escape from everything happening in New York City. LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Scandalous details are beginning to emerge from the tell-all book written by Madonna's brother, Christopher Ciconne, who claims that the singer once made out with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, among other incidents.

According to Ciccone, when Madonna was at a New Year's party thrown by Donatella Versace, she danced on top of a table, dragged Gwyneth Paltrow up with her, and proceeded to make out with the Oscar-winning actress.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna's brother Christopher Cicconne appeared on ABC's Good Morning America today and revealed even more details about his sister from his tell-all book, Life With My Sister Madonna.

Cicconne said their father had no objections to the book, and he even supplied previously unseen family photographs. Contrary to popular belief, Madonna came from a middle class home and was a "Daddy's girl who always got what she wanted," and Cicconne said Madonna recently called their father "trying to get him to choose sides." Cicconne says the turning point in his relationship with his sister was when she rolled around on their mother’s grave in the 1991 documentary, Truth or Dare.

Cicconne also discussed Madonna's husband, British film director Guy Ritchie and noted that "Guy's attitude towards me needs to change," as well as Madonna's. When asked if his sister resembled the girl that he knew so many years ago, Ciccone responded, “not after the facelift” and revealed that "ultimately she's a lonely person."

When asked if he was paid handsomely, Cicconne said, "I'm not unhappy with it," and on whether or not Madonna would speak to him after the publication of this book, Cicconne replied, "I think so, I hope so."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna wants to reunite former lovers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake on stage during her Sticky & Sweet world tour, according to The Sun.

Madonna has reportedly asked Spears to make a surprise appearance at several of her shows, and Spears has already filmed a video sequence to be played across a large screen during the concerts. However, Madonna is looking to take things to the next level, as she wants Timberlake to make an appearance and perform their duet, 4 Minutes, and a source tells The Sun Madonna even hopes to get both Spears and Timberlake on the same stage for her final show in Miami this November.

A source told The Sun:

“Madonna is always trying to raise the bar and Britney and Timberlake on the same stage would be perfect. They have both been asked but I think both are a bit reluctant. Britney would find it all a bit emotional and JT might not fancy it. More likely is that they both appear on different dates, but if anyone can make this happen it’s Madonna.”

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Another Madonna book is set to hit the shelves, but this one will be released by her manager, Guy Oseary, according to the New York Post.

The 224-page coffee table book titled Madonna: Confessions, features pictures from her 2006 world tour, and the Material Girl even gave quotes and helped pick out some of the photos.

The book will be available in October, just as the singer's Sticky & Sweet tour kicks off.

The magazine describes the 49-year-old singer's cheekbones and heart-shaped face as one that is most desired by women choosing to undergo plastic surgery, along with Demi Moore and the Olsen twins. However, it has also raised questions as to whether or not Madonna has had work done on her famous face.

While her publicist will neither confirm or deny rumors that her client has had plastic surgery, her brother Christopher Ciccone has told the media that what the public sees is not natural. When Ciccone appeared on ABC's Good Morning America last month and was asked if his sister resembled the girl that he knew so many years ago, he responded, “not after the facelift."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yankees star Alex Rodriguez is making a half a million dollar donation to Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi, according to the NY Daily News.

A source told the newspaper, "They've asked him for a million dollars, and I hear he's agreed to give at least $500,000." This isn't the first time Rodriguez has made a large donation; in 2003, he gave $3.9 million to the University of Miami to help build a baseball stadium.

Neither Rodriguez's representative nor a spokesperson for the charity would confirm the donation.

Givenchy spokeswoman Caroline Deroche-Pasquier says Givenchy Couture has made the legendary pop star two ensembles, one of which will be worn during the show's opening number. Givenchy's design team is headed by Riccardo Tisci, who is best know for his gothic-inspired pieces and use of dark fabrics.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Half a century old and Madonna shows no signs of slowing down! The Material Girl is working on her "Sticky & Sweet" tour which kicks off August 23rd in Cardiff, Wales - just a week after her birthday.

After decades as the reigning queen of pop, Madonna has settled down a bit, but she's hardly slowing down. Earlier this year, Madonna signed a reported $120 million deal with Live Nation, a company specialized in music tours, after she split from her long-time label, Warner Brothers.

Then reports of an affair with New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez plagued the wife and mom, though neither side ever admitted any wrongdoing in their respective marriages. Still, the media has skewered the pop star for supposed marital troubles and for her somewhat controversial adoption of her son David Bana from Malawi.

Madonna rose from obscurity, born and raised in Bay City, Michigan on August 16, 1958, nee Madonna Luise Veronica Ciccone. LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna is preparing for her most extravagant world tour ever, with $2 million worth of costumes and jewelry alone, according to The Sun. The Sticky & Sweet tour kicks off at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in Wales tomorrow, with a two-hour set split into four acts.

"Pimp" pays homage to 1920s art deco style and gangsters, while the "Old School" act has Madonna paying tribute to her 1980's disco roots. The "Gypsy" portion was inspired by the spirit of Romanian folk music, and the "Rave" act was influenced by Far Eastern culture.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna seems to have drama following her wherever she goes, and this is just the latest scandal for the 50-year-old singer.

Madonna kicked off her Sticky & Sweet Tour in the U.K. on Saturday night, and tongues were wagging after her performance of "Get Stupid." According to MTV, she compared Republican presidential hopeful John McCain to Adolf Hitler in a video montage during the song, and then showed clips of Democratic nominee Barack Obama alongside pictures of John Lennon, Mahatma Ghandi and Al Gore.

McCain spokesperson Tucker Bounds released the following statement:

"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time. It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though Madonna is one of the biggest stars in the world, she reportedly doesn't want her children in showbusiness. According to Star magazine, when her 11-year-old Lourdes was offered a small part in the upcoming film The Secret Life of Bees, Madonna rejected the offer.

A source for the magazine says, "Madonna didn't work [until] after high school, and she wants it to be the same way for Lourdes. She doesn't want her to enter that harsh world." LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A spokesperson for Madonna says the singer and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after seven and a half years of marriage.

In a statement to the associated press, Liz Rosenberg says the couple has not yet reached an agreement on terms of the divorce.

The news came just hours after a British tabloid reported that an announcement of a split was coming "imminently." British tabloid The Sun reported Wednesday that a "highly placed source" confirmed that Madonna, 50, and Ritchie, 40, "just couldn't live together any more" and could "no longer bear to live with the pretence" of being a happily married couple.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The weekend headlines were filled with stories and rumors about Madonna and Guy Richie's divorce. From settlement talks to pregnancy possibilities, there was no shortage of speculation about the next chapter in what is poised to be a very contentious public divorce.

The only official announcement from either camp said Madonna and Ritchie have yet to finalize the terms of their divorce, and was reported by the New York Daily News.

Other rumors about Madonna revolved around children.

The UK's Daily Mail reported that Madonna wanted to have a baby with her rumored love-interest Alex Rodriguez, while the father of Madonna's adopted son David reportedly thinks the boy "might be better off" back in Malawi.

Even though she's 50 years old, the Daily Mail's story quoted a friend as saying Madonna was thinking about having a child with the Yankee's superstar.

"She thinks he's physically a great specimen. And if she is going to have another child, he would be the ideal man," an unnamed friend told the Mail. Rodriguez has reportedly purchased an apartment 2 blocks from Madonna's New York city residence to be closer to her, although the pair have not yet publicly confirmed their relationship.

Meantime, the father of Madonna's adopted son was once again suggesting that his son should be returned to him.

"He doesn't look happy," Yohana Banda, who lives in Malawi with his wife, 3-year-old daughter and infant son, told Australia's Herald Sun. "If there is no love in the family, is there any love for him?"

LOS ANGELES, California (X17onine) - For the first time, Trudie Styler is speaking publicly about the divorce of her close friends Madonna and Guy Ritchie.

“I love them both,” Trudie told Access Hollywood Monday night at the Whitney Museum of America Art’s Studio Party in celebration with Versace, where her husband, Sting, was performing. “They’re both dear friends of mine and all good things sometimes come to an end.”

It was Trudie and Sting who brought the now separated couple together at a dinner party in 1999. Madonna and Guy married the following year at Skibo Castle in Scotland.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna and Alex Rodriguez reportedly chartered separate helicopters for a 4-hour visit to the East Hampton estate of Jerry Seinfeld, PageSix reports.

"The Seinfelds have been friends with Madonna for years. They're neighbors on the West Side, so it's really no surprise," a source told PageSix. "And Jerry and [wife] Jessica go to her concerts whenever she's in town."

Rodriguez and Madonna reportedly were seen at the airport in East Hampton, where they were picked up by the Seinfelds.

"A dark SUV and Jerry in another Porsche both pulled up and picked up Madonna and they headed back to Jerry's place," a witness told PageSix. "When they arrived at the Seinfeld home, Madonna poked her head out the window and could be clearly seen."

However, the visit to the Seinfeld's 12-acre estate didn't last long.

"About four hours later, the dark SUV left the house and took them all back to the airport. Madonna and the Seinfelds could clearly be seen getting out and piling into the copter that had taken Madonna there in the first place. They left together," the source said. "Several minutes later, the helicopter that carried A-Rod also left."

Representatives for Seinfeld and Rodriguez refused to confirm the story, while Madonna's spokesperson said she was unaware of the meeting.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online)- Guy Ritchie has retained a top british legal expert in his battle with Madonna over where the former couple's children will live.

Madonna reportedly wants to move their three children back to the US.

During their eight year marriage, the family lived in London and Ritchie is opposed to the move to the US.

The UK's Daily Mail reports that Ritchie has hired Steven Cobb, CQ, who is considered a specialist in family law cases where the children's country of residence is in dispute.

Madonna and Ritchie have an eight year old son, Rocco who born in the US, and they jointly adopted another son, David, 3, from Malawi in 2006.

Madonna has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship.

Fiona Shackleton, who represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney in their divorces, has been hired as Madonna's attorney.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake will perform with Madonna at her concert in Los Angeles, according to KIIS-FM.

Ryan Seacrest told listeners Wednesday afternoon about the rumored event.

"If Justin and Britney end up on that stage with her...I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like that before," said Ryan as he spoke to afternoon DJ Boy Toy Jesse.

If it happens, it would be the first time Britney Spears will have been seen in public with her ex Justin Timberlake in several years. It will also be the first time Spears has performed with Madonna since the two shared a controversial kiss in the opening act of MTV's Video Music Awards in 2003.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The rumors turned out to be true, as Britney Spears made a surprise appearance onstage with Madonna at Dodger Stadium Thursday night.

Wearing a white ruffled top and wide-leg black pants, Spears followed Madonna on to the stage before taking the microphone announcing, "It's Britney, bitch."

The pair performed Madonna's song "Human Nature." As Spears finished up her performance, Madonna gave her a hug and kissed her on the hand.

But that wasn't the only big name joining Madonna on stage. Near the end of the show, Justin Timberlake took the stage to perform his duet with Madonna "4 Minutes."

There were a number of Celebrities on hand in the audience, they included Fergie, Drew Barrymore, Heidi Klum, Nicole Ritchie and Jennifer Lopez.

During the concert, Madonna also took the opportunity to offer a bit of political insight, in light of the controversy surrounding California’s Proposition 8, the state's ban on gay marriage which was passed this week.

“If we can elect an African-American as president, we can support gay marriage! Defeat Prop 8! We will not give up!” she told the audience.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - On her official website, Madonna has announced plans to build "The Raising Malawi Academy For Girls."

In a video message on the site, Madonna asks fans to contribute to help build the school.

"After witnessing the potential of Malawi's girls firsthand, I made it my mission to give them an opportunity to become their personal best. I hope you will share my urgency and make a donation today. Every donation counts toward helping impoverished girls to reach their full potential. Madonna's adopted son David was born in Malawi and the pop superstar has made several visits to the African nation.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna will be the new face of Louis Vuitton's 2009 marketing campaign, PageSix reports.

The pop singer will reportedly be paid $10 million to appear in the ads.

Women's Wear Daily reports the ads will be shot by Steven Meisel, who did Madonna's notorious 1992 book, "Sex."

Last weekend, Madonna was seen talking with Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, discussing the clothing and upcoming ads.

Madonna's publicist declined to comment on the reported deal.

LOS ANGELES, California - Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been granted a preliminary divorce decree by a London court.

Madonna petitioned for the divorce, citing "unreasonable behavior" as the reason for the split.

Neither were in court for the brief session listed on court records as "Ciccone M L v Ritchie G S." The divorce can become final after six weeks and one day.

Various British media have reported unconfirmed stories that the couple had reached a settlement that would allow Madonna keep the majority of her estimated $445 million fortune and share custody with Ritchie of their two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour is proving to be one of the most profitable of the performer's long career.

The 28 dates in North America grossed nearly $91.5 million, selling more than 550,000 tickets, according to tour producer Arthur Fogel, chairman of global music for Live Nation.

Counting her European run, Madonna is at about $207.5 million in ticket sales and its expected sales will hit nearly $282 million after her Mexico and South America dates are added into the gross.

That total would make "Sticky & Sweet" the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist or solo artist.

The tour, supporting her album "Hard Candy," concludes with three nights December 18-21 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna has won an invasion of privacy suit against the British tabloid "Mail on Sunday" which published stolen pictures of her 2000 wedding to Guy Ritchie.

Madge says the pics were stolen from her home in Beverly Hills by an interior decorator who then sold copies of the photographs to the paper. She is seeking more than $7 million in damages.

An attorney for Madonna said, by publishing the photos, the pop singer "was ambushed, for the simple reason that if the "Mail on Sunday" had told her what they intended to do, the claimant would have sought and obtained an injunction."

The newspaper, who paid about $6,000 for the photos, made "no attempt to defend what it did" and admitted to breach of privacy and copyright.

Despite admissions made by the newspaper, an apology had not yet been made to Madonna, according to her attorneys.

Liz Rosenberg told The Associated Press on Monday that Madonna has given Ritchie between 50 and 60 million pounds ($76 million to $92 million) as part of their divorce agreement.

"I'd assume it's one of the largest payouts ever in a divorce settlement," Rosenberg said.

The figure includes the value of the couple's country home Ashcombe in western England.

Rosenberg adds that while the financial component of the settlement has been worked out, custodial arrangements for the couple's children have yet to be finalized.

A representative for Ritchie declined to comment.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Despite a statement on Monday from Madonna's long-time spokesperson saying the singer would be paying her ex husband Guy Ritchie somewhere between $76 and $92 million bucks to settle their divorce, the former couple has now issued their own statement saying that the numbers are not true.

The statement reads:

"We have tried to maintain a dignified silence regarding the details of our divorce for the last few months whilst accepting the obvious media interest.

"A misleading and inaccurate statement, specifically in relation to the sums of money involved, was wrongly issued to AP this week.

"The financial details of the settlement will remain private, save to say that both of us are happy with our agreement. Our primary concern, like any co-parents, is the care and well being of our children."

The custody arrangements for the former couple's children are still being worked out. Their sons, Rocco and David, are reportedly going to be spending the holidays with their father in the UK, while Madonna finishes up her "Sticky & Sweet" world tour.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna may be planning to join Britney Spears on her upcoming world tour, the UK's Daily Mirror reports.

According to the paper, Madonna will appear on stage with Spears at a few of the pop star's upcoming performances in support of her new CD "Circus."

Although there has been no official confirmation from either camp, the newspaper quotes a source as saying that choreographers have been asked to create an "out-of-this-world" dance routine for Britney and Madonna.

"When Britney joined Madonna on stage for her Hard Candy [Sticky & Sweet] tour it was very sedate. This is going to be a high energy dance routine - getting back to what they are both good at, performing," the source said.

NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - A nude photograph of a 20-year-old Madonna is expected to bring in $10,000, according to Christie's auction house.

The nude photo, for which the then struggling Madonna was paid $25 dollars, was published in "Playboy" magazine in 1985.

Another photo of Madonna, by Helmut Newton, is also in the auction. In that shot, she is wearing lingerie.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A nude photograph of Madonna brought in $37,500 at an auction on Thursday.

The photograph, taken in 1979, had been expected to sell for $15,000.

Photographer Lee Friedlander took the photograph, which later appeared in Playboy in 1985. Madonna was reportedly paid $25 for the photoshoot.

The photograph auctioned Thursday was one of six from that shoot that appeared in Playboy; the other five pictures were sold together in 2003 for $7,170.

It is believed to be the highest price ever paid for a photograph of Madonna.

According to Us Weekly, Madonna arrived with manager Guy Oseary and several bodyguards, and she "purposely walked up the main stairs" to get to her VIP suite.

According to a source at the concert, she did this with the intention of getting noticed.

Madonna left right before Brit's "Womanizer" encore.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears will have a surprise guest at her upcoming Tour stop in New York City on March 23rd.

"She’ll be singing with Madonna in New York,” the starlet’s stylist David Alexander told In Touch Magazine at his March 14 fashion show in LA.

Apparently the duo will be performing a mash-up of two of their songs.
“It will be ‘Get Together’ and ‘Trouble.’ So, together the song is called ‘Lose Control,’ ” David added.

Madonna may also join joining Britney, for one of the Circus singer’s LA shows on April 16 or 17.

“It’s supposed to be a surprise!” said David.

Britney performed with Madonna during her Sticky & Sweet tour on November 6 in LA.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Despite the controversy surrounding her first adoption, Madonna is reportedly considering adopting a second child from Malawi, according to Access Hollywood.

"Many people — especially our Malawian friends — say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister,” Madonna reportedly told a Malawian newspaper.

"It’s something I have been considering, but would only do, if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government.”

Madonna adopted began the process to adopt her son David in 2006. The adoption was approved by a court there last year.

"The adoption is going ahead," Malawi's Director of Child Welfare Services, Penstone Kilembe, tells Us Magazine. "It has been at an advanced stage for some time."

Madonna is expected to travel to Malawi this weekend to finalize the adoption. The 50-year-old mother of 3 has said that she wanted to give her adapted son David, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006, a Malawian brother or sister.

According the UK's The Sun, Madonna broke down in tears during a recent phone conversation with Guy.

“Rocco was speaking to her and suddenly turned to Guy and said, ‘Daddy, Daddy. Mummy is crying’. He then handed Guy the phone,” the paper quotes a source.

“It’s unusual for Madonna to turn on the waterworks but this has really upset her," the source continued.

Guy has been very supportive of Madonna's efforts to adopt a 4-year-old girl named Mercy, even releasing a statement after a judge denied the adoption because Madonna had not lived in Malawi for the last 18 months.

“I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened her application has been rejected," Guy's statement read.

“She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her.”

The UK's The Sun newspaper is reporting that Madonna is having architects draw up plans for a home that she could and her family could live in, perhaps in response to not being allowed to adopt Mercy James because she had not lived in the country for 18 months as Malawian law requires.

“Madonna has a big, beautiful plot of land over there already. She’s planning to build a girl’s school in the Chinkhota village and those designs are well under way," a source tells The Sun. “But she’s gone back to the designers and asked if they could accommodate a family home on the plot or on adjacent land.”

NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - A photographer says he was nowhere near Madonna when the pop icon took a nasty spill off a horse in the Hamptons this weekend - and even the local cops are verifying his story.

Thomas Hinton tells the New York Daily News that he snapped Madge on her horse around 3:50 in the afternoon and then left the area. He headed back to property where Madonna was staying when he received a tip there had been an accident.

"I arrived more than 10 minutes after she fell and I was shooting from the street," Hinton said.

Madonna's spokesperson Liz Rosenberg had claimed that the singer's horse was spooked when a paparazzi jumped out of the bushes.

After the mishap, the 50-year-old mother of three was taken to the hospital and checked out, but was released a few hours later.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna's bid to adopt a 3-year-old girl from Malawi has gotten even more complicated now that Mercy's father wants to block the adoption so that he can raise the child himself.

The 24-year-old father, who abandoned Mercy's mother when she became pregnant, now says he'd rather raise the child who has lived her entire life in an orphanage.

In an interview with the UK's Daily Mail, the father says he's trying to protect his daughter from "a life of scandal" with a woman he says is without "good morals."

"She is my daughter; she is my blood; she needs parental love," the father said of Mercy.

The father has written a letter asking that the court block Madonna's attempt to adopt the girl and return her to his custody.

Meantime, it's being reported that Madonna's ex-husband Guy Ritchie will be taking care of their son Rocco and their adopted son David for three months this summer while Madonna goes on tour.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The father of Madonna's new Brazilian boyfriend, Jesus Luz, told Quem magazine that his son and the pop queen would marry in a Kabbalah ceremony.

Luis Heitor Pinto da Luz told the Brazilian publication, "The kabbalah ceremony [that] will link up my son Jesus Luz and Madonna only confirms that he is extremely happy...I don't know if there will, in fact, be a real marriage between Madonna and my son. It will be a type of ritual, but I do not know [f it] will have legal validity."

So what does Madonna's future father-in-law think about her?: "I've spoken by phone with Madonna - in French, because my English is not fluent - and she appears to me to be a normal and polite person. She is feminine. I don't feel she is a harsh person," Pinto da Luz told Quem.

He also confirmed that Madonna and Jesus live together in her Central Park West apartment, and that his son has been put on manny duty!: "[Madonna] has small children, and Jesus helps her out with various tasks involving all of them. In an interview on Brazilian TV, Jesus Luz says of Madonna, "She is my friend, only my friend."

Luz also denied the rumors, started by the model's own father, that he and Madonna were getting married.

"Madonna is a person who I admire very much, a friend who has entered my life and [with whom] I keep in contact. I cannot say anything more than I don't have plans of marrying her," Luz said. " I can't say if she is the woman in my life."

She was originally turned down due to the fact that she didn't reside in the country (although the unofficial reason may have had more to do with her lifestyle), but somehow, Madonna has found away around that law.

"All recommendations are in favor of the adoption taking place," a source tells The Sun. "Mercy should start packing her bags. She's off to America."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna has won the fight to adopt a second child from Malawi, after the country's highest court approved the adoption previously denied by a lower court.

This means Madonna will be allowed to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James, an orphan she met in 2006 while in the process of adopting her first child from Malawi.

Madonna's attorney Alan Chinula delivered the news to Madonna.

"It was the wee hours of the morning in New York but she is excited at the news," Chinula told the Associated Press. "As her lawyer I am happy that this has settled this contentious issue."

A passport is being arranged for Mercy and Madonna is expected to travel to Malawi in the next few days to meet up with her new daughter.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna and Israeli opposition leader Tzipi Livni had dinner in Tel Aviv, Israel last night, where Madonna is in town for two concerts this week.

Livni’s spokesman Gil Messing says the two women spent over two hours at the restaurant, and he added that Livni “was very impressed with Madonna and found her to be a very interesting person.”

Both wore short-sleeved black dresses and hugged as they exited the eatery, and Messing said that Livni and her husband plan to attend one of Madonna’s concerts this week.

Lourdes, hoping to follow in her famous mother's footsteps, not only dances in the video, but appeared onstage with Madonna in Tel Aviv for the Sticky & Sweet tour Tuesday night. Lourdes joined Madonna onstage during "Give It 2 Me", wearing matching black pants, vests, and black "geek" glasses.

Lourdes is apparently "desperate to become an actress", and has enrolled in Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna has offered to donate one of her favorite pairs of Christian Dior shoes to a charity supporting Gypsy child education, reports the Associated Press. A pair of gold heels, which are autographed by the material girl, will be sold at the Ovidiu Rom annual ball in late October.

Last August Madonna was booed onstage in Bucharest when she said she believed the discrimination against eastern Europe’s gypsies should end, but it looks like she does have some supporters.

Leslie Hawke, actor Ethan Hawke's mother and president of Ovidiu Rom, told the AP, "Madonna’s very mild comment regarding equality shone a spotlight on a common European attitude toward Gypsies. LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Queen of Pop, who has a greatest hits album coming out, graces the cover of Rolling Stone magazine this month with a vintage photo from the 80s.

The 50-something sounded off to the mag about her transformations, biggest hits and being a "geek".

“I think people put a lot of emphasis on the whole reinvention of my image, and it’s always been a lot less calculated than people think,” Madonna told the mag. ” I think it’s boring to stay the same. A girl likes to change her look.” Really? Still referring to herself as "a girl" at 51?

“I was a geek in high school. I didn’t really have a drink until I got divorced for the first time [from Sean Penn] when I was 30,” she says. But just after that she recounts a time in the 7th grade where she sang The Who's Baba O'Riley for a talent show in a midriff top and body paint. Doesn't sound too "geeky" to me.

But Madonna also said some things that actually make sense. Madge recently told Contact Music that "I see myself in Lady GaGa."

"When I saw her, she didn't have a lot of money for her production," Mama Madonna said. "She had holes in her fishnets, and there were mistakes everywhere. It was kind of a mess, but I can see that she has that 'It Factor'." Hmmm, holes in her fishnets and mistakes everywhere? Sounds like the old Madonna indeed!

I just wish their first collaboration had been better than this disaster. Oh well, there's still time. GaGa is still in her twenties and Madonna's gonna bio-engineer herself to live forever so maybe we'll get a duet out of them yet!

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Malawian government officials have informed villagers outside of Lilongwe that they must move to make way for the all girls' academy Madonna will be building on the land.

According to the AP, District Commissioner Charles Kalemba told hundreds of villagers yesterday that the region has been handed over to Madonna, and even though they have been offered other land, the vast majority of residents are refusing to leave.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - Lourdes Leon will not star in Madonna's upcoming biopic, W.E., according to the pop icon's publicist.

W.E., which focuses on the scandalous 1936 romance between King Edward VIII and American socialite Wallis Simpson, will be directed by Madonna.

A French website started the rumors that the 13-year-old had been cast in the film. This isn't the first time the teen has been associated with a movie. Just a few years back, it was rumored that Lourdes was going to join the cast of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which turned out to be false.

However, Madonna and Lourdes have been working together on a junior fashion line for Macy's called Material Girl. The line will include footwear, jewelry, handbags and a possible fragrance in 2011.

The collection will be available at Macy's this August.

MANHATTAN, New York (X17online) - Madonna is highly upset about the Malawi courts' ruling to imprison a gay couple.

"Today, Malawi took a giant step backward. The world is filled with pain and suffering; therefore, we must support our basic human right to love and be loved," the singer tells UsMagazine.com.

Steven Monjeza, 25 and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, 33, were found guilty of unnatural acts and gross indecency. The two men will now serve 14 years of hard labor in prison ... a ruling their attorneys will appeal.

Reports claim that the couple publicly celebrated an engagement party. In the South African country, homosexuality is seen as an abomination. After photos from the party hit the press, the two were arrested.

A Malawi official released this statement: "I do not believe Malawi is ready at this point in time to see its sons, or cohabitating, or conducting engagement ceremonies. Malawi is not ready to smile at her daughters marrying each other. Let posterity judge this judgment."

As for Madonna, she adopted kids David and Mercy, both from Malawi. The singer is also the co-founder of the charity, Raising Malawi.

She adds, "I am shocked and saddened by the decision made by the Malawian court, which sentenced two innocent men to prison. As a matter of principle, I believe in equal rights for all people, no matter what their gender, race, color, religion, or sexual orientation. I call upon the progressive men and women of Malawi - and around the world - to challenge this decision in the name of human dignity and equal rights for all."

NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - One of Madonna's longtime co-writers John "Jellybean" Benitez has been accused of keeping $10 million worth of royalties from Madonna's 1983 hit Holiday away from The Spirit One Music group, according to a suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

While Benitez and Spirit were supposed to divide the royalties for the 1983 hit-song, Benitez "repeatedly and unrepentantly misstated and underreported revenues due to its joint owner, Spirit, and repeatedly, systematically and intentionally made delinquent and tardy payments" to Spirit, the suit claims.

The Spirit One Management Company is requesting $10 million in allegedly unpaid royalties.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The rights for Madonna's film, W.E., have already been sold in the UK, however CAA has put sales in North America on hold for now. The agency says their aiming to open up sales in the Fall.

The negotiations may start at the Venice or Toronto Film Festival, according to Deadline.

Village Roadshow has reportedly taken New Zealand and Australia rights. The site also reports sales in France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Spain and Latin America are going for "over asking price."

The movie stars Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac and James D'Arcy.

ROME, Italy (X17online) - Madonna's newest film, W.E., is set to premiere at The Venice Film Festival.

The lineup for the 68th fest was announced Thursday and will also feature premieres from Steven Soderbergh and Al Pacino.

Madonna, Soderberg and Pacino's films are not in the competition. However, many English-language films are featured this year, including festival opener The Ides of March, starring George Clooney who also directed and co-wrote the film.

Though W.E. is being billed as Madonna's directorial debut, it's actual her second one. She directed Filth and Wisdom in 2008.

W.E., starring James D'Arcy, Abbie Cornish, Richard Coyle, Oscar Isaac and Andrea Riseborough, is a drama weaving King Edward VIII's affair with American Wallis Simpson with the modern day romance of a married woman and a Russian security guard. The movie will be released in New York City and Los Angeles theaters December 9.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna is teaming with Smirnoff to find a backup dancer for her next tour.

In a new social media campaign called the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project, Smirnoff hopes to get 10 million people across 50 countries to exchange nightlife stories on the brand’s Facebook page.

Smirnoff will simultaneously host 50 parties on November 12 as a part of the campaign, one of which will include a dance-off to be judged by Madonna. The winner may be chosen as a dancer for the pop icon’s next tour.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A federal judge has rejected Madonna’s claim that she has trademark primacy over the phrase “Material Girl.”

Judge S. James Otero’s decision comes after clothes retailer LA Triumph filed a lawsuit against Madonna and her Material Girl clothes line last year, claiming that it first began selling a line of “Material Girl” clothes in 1997 and therefore owns the trademark.

Madonna counterclaimed that her 1985 hit “Material Girl” and the $85 million worth of “Material Girl” merchandise sales in the 1980s should render her the “senior trademark user.”

Judge Otero disagreed with Madonna’s legal grounding but will allow a jury to hear both arguments when the case goes to trial in October.

NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - Madonna fans reach all corners of the world – except next door.

The Queen of Pop has settled a lawsuit by a neighbor who claimed she was using her apartment as a rehearsal studio and subjecting the building to “blaring music, stomping and shaking walls” for up to three hours a day.

Madonna soundproofed her apartment in 2009 and vowed to build a studio elsewhere in March of this year, though it appears that her efforts did not suffice.

Details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

NEW YORK, New York (X17online) - Madonna has inked a three-album deal with Interscope Records.

After breaking ties with Warner Music Group in 2007, the Queen of Pop will reportedly earn a base of $1 million per album with her new label.

“It’s just about keeping relevance so that she can tour. She is still in the demo phase, but the idea is to get the first album out early next year,” a source told the New York Post.

Madonna’s 10-year, $100 million touring and merchandising contract with Live Nation will remain in tact.

A source told The Insider that Cee Lo has been traveling to New York to rehearse with Madonna for the past two weeks. Madonna previously revealed that she plans to sing “Give Me All Your Love” and some “oldies but goodies.” No other details about the show have been revealed, but Madonna did tell Extra, “I know what I'm wearing, and I just hope I can negotiate the high heels I have to dance in.”

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - NBC is receiving flack for its failure to blur M.I.A.’s middle finger during the Super Bowl halftime show.

The rapper “flipped the bird” during her performance with Madonna and Nicki Minaj on Sunday night, prompting groups such as the PTC (Parents Television Council) to criticize NBC, as well as the NFL, for enabling it.

"The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show," NBC said in a statement. "Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers."

The controversy is reminiscent to that of Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, during which Jackson infamously flashed her nipple as a result of a “wardrobe malfunction.”

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna's latest album, MDNA, debuted at number 1 on the British charts, making her the most successful solo artist in British history.

Despite selling only 56,000 copies, the singer's 12th studio album appeared at the top of the charts for the 12th time in her career, one more than Elvis Presley's 11.

Madonna's latest record will undoubtedly benefit from the news and her upcoming international tour, one that the singer has been diligently preparing for.

"There's been lots of cardio and I'm doing a combination of pilates and dance cardio," Madonna said. "And there's been plenty of skipping rope work. The envelope I'm pushing for is as spectacular a show as I can. It should be a feast for the eyes and ears."
