Michael J. Fox Heads Back To TV

mjfox200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael J. Fox will be a guest star on the CBS hit show The Good Wife alongside series regular Julianna Margulies.

Fox will play "a shrewd and cynical litigator who squares off with Alicia in a massive class action suit." According to a CBS statement, the actor's character, Simon Canning, will use his neurological condition to his advantage in the hopes of winning his case.

Show creators Robert and Michelle King released the following statement:

    "We're absolutely thrilled that Michael has agreed to play this role. His intelligence as an actor, combined with his incredible comic timing will really bring this smart, cynical lawyer to life."

Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease back in 1991. As for the second season of The Good Wife, it premieres on September 28.

Michael J. Fox's Curb Your Enthusiasm Guest Starring Role Uncovered

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Larry David's character on Curb your Enthusiasm is no stranger to pushing the envelope with a wide array of controversial topics on the show -- and now the grumpy TV icon will tackle Parkinson's Disease.

Michael J. Fox, will be a guest star on an episode in the eight season of the HBO sitcom, playing himself, as Larry's neighbor in his New York apartment.

For two decades, Fox has battled Parkinson's, and has been vocal about his struggles with the disease. This time, he will make light of his condition by using it to make jokes.

Fox was most recently a guest star on CBS' The Good Wife, portraying an attorney with Parkinson's.

Fox has earned six Emmys in his acting career.

Michael J. Fox Returning To TV, Zoe Saldana To Play Singer Nina Simone In Biopic

m-j-fox-tv-casting.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online.com) - After taking nearly ten years off from acting to concentrate on fighting Parkinson’s disease, Michael J. Fox is planning to return to television. The Spin City star is currently working with Sony Pictures Television on a yet-to-be-titled project, this would be premiering in 2013, but no other information has been released about the show.

In other casting news, Zoe Saldana has signed on to play Nina Simone in the new biopic Nina, which is set to begin production on October 16.

Carey Mulligan is in negotiations to star in Nancy and Danny, a thriller about a money-hungry small town woman (Mulligan) whose "uses a hapless man as a pawn in a get-rich-quick scheme that quickly goes wrong," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in Mississippi Grind, a gambling film written by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, who directed Ryan Gosling to a best actor Oscar nomination for Half Nelson back in 2006. The story follows a 40something gambler goes on a road trip through the south with a younger gambling addict (Gyllenhaal) in an attempt to pay off his debts.

NBC Picks Up Michael J. Fox's New Sitcom

m-j-fox-tv-casting.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online.com) - NBC announced that they have picked up Michael J. Fox's new sitcom for a full, 22-episode season.

The series is based loosely on his life, and it will tell the story of a father of three doing his best to manage his family, his career, and his Parkinson's Disease. The yet-to-be-titled show will premiere in the fall of 2013.

"I'm extremely pleased to be back at NBC with a great creative team and a great show," Fox said in a statement. "Bob Greenblatt and all the folks at the network have given me a warm welcome home, and I'm excited to get to work."

Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, added, "To bring Michael J. Fox back to NBC is a supreme honor and we are thrilled that one of the great comedic television stars is coming home again. From the moment we met with Michael to hear his unique point of view about this new show, we were completely captivated and on board. He is utterly relatable, optimistic, and in a class by himself, and I have no doubt that the character he will create ... will be both recognizable and hilarious."
