Michael Jackson Saves Neverland Ranch

Michael Jackson MJACKSON030807.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson avoided a foreclosure auction of his Neverland Ranch after an investment company purchased a loan on the property, a spokeswoman said on Sunday, May 11. According to the Los Angeles Times, the loan was purchased by Colony Capital LLC and was the latest deal to keep Jackson from losing the 2,500 acre Santa Barbara County ranch.

Back in March, Jackson and his creditors, Fortress Investment Group, reached an agreement to postpone the auction until this week, and Colony Capital LLC spokeswoman Caroline Luz told the press that the auction has now been canceled.

A statement was released by Jackson's reps saying that the singer was "pleased with recent developments involving Neverland" that would allow him "to focus on the future."

Neverland Ranch had a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, game arcades and a zoo with elephants, giraffes, orangutans and other exotic animals. Jackson purchased the ranch 20 years ago for $28 million.

Michael Jackson Sued By Bahraini Prince

Michael Jackson JacksonSued200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson is being sued for $7 million by the son of the King of Bahrain.

Sheikh Abdulla Bin Isa Al-Khalifa filed the case on Monday.

The prince alleges Jackson backed out on a recording and entertainment project they had planned.

He also claims that the proceeds of the projects were to be used to repay the money he advanced to the music icon to help him out of his financial problems, according to the Times Online.

Jackson denies the allegations, claiming the money he received was a "gift" and that they had never finalized any projects.

Jackson's finances fell apart after he was arrested in 2003 over allegations he molested a 13-year-old boy at his ranch. A jury cleared him of all the charges.

Last week he was forced to give up the deed on Neverland, a 2,500-acre amusement park he created in California's Santa Ynez Valley.

Lawyer Claims Michael Jackson Too Sick To Attend Trial

Michael Jackson MichaelTrialIllness200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - An attorney for Michael Jackson said Tuesday the pop star may be too ill to travel to London to testify in a suit claiming he owes an Arab sheikh $7 million.

Jackon want's to testify via video conference from the United States.

"It would be unwise for him to travel, given what's he's got now," lawyer Robert Englehart said, declining to elaborate "for the obvious reasons."

Al Khalifa's lawyer, Bankim Thanki, said the medical evidence presented by Jackson's legal team was "very unsatisfactory" and Jackson's illness could be treated with a bandage "if the diagnosis is positive."

"It's not the first time a sick note has been presented by Mr. Jackson," Thanki said, also without elaborating.

The judge said he would rule on the matter Thursday to allow time for medical experts on both legal teams to talk.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the second son of the king of Bahrain, claims that Jackson reneged on a contract for an album, a candid autobiography and a stage play, after receiving millions from the prince

The case is being tried in London by mutual agreement, Al Khalifa's representatives have said. It is due to wrap up by the end of the month.

More Legal Woes For Michael Jackson

JacksonSuedAgain200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson is being sued yet again by another person who claims he owes them money.

Michael Jackson's former spokesperson Raymone Bain has filed a $44 million lawsuit against the singer, claiming he broke his promise to give her 10% of all the deals she helped negotiate over the years.

Bain (who started working for Jackson in 2003) claims she helped broker deals for the 25th anniversary "Thriller" album as well as the refinancing of his music catalogue.

The $44 million represents her cut of those and other recent deals, including Jackson's upcoming concerts in London, which are estimated to bring in approximately $400 million. Bain told the press, "I have been left no choice."

Does Michael Jackson Have Skin Cancer?

JacksonNoMask200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson is being treated for skin cancer according to the British newspaper "The Sun."

According to the paper, doctors discovered the skin cancer on the pop star's upper body and pre-cancerous cells on his face.

X17online spotted Jackson at a Beverly Hills medical office over the weekend.

Accompanying Jackson were his children, Prince , 11, Paris Katherine, 10, and Prince Michael II, 5. After leaving the medical building, Jackson then took the kids - who were all wearing brightly colored masks - to a near-by toy store.

Jackson, who was dressed in a black suit with large gold studs was not wearing his usual surgical mask, but he was carrying an umbrella, possibly on the advice of doctors to avoid the sun.

LAPD Launches Investigation Into Jackson's Death

JacksonInvestigation200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Questions are already being asked about the death of Michael Jackson, who passed away at the age of 50 today.

The pop icon suffered cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon, and when paramedics arrived at his Beverly Hills home, he wasn't breathing and they were unable to revive him. Jackson was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center, and shortly after he arrived at 1:10pm, he was pronounced dead.

"Michael was non-responsive when he arrived in the emergency room. They didn't call a time of death until he was here. They tried to revive him, then said he was dead," a source inside the hospital tells X17online exclusively.

"A few different people were with him but they were all giving conflicting information. The sense of a possible drug overdose is lingering. They're sending him in for an autopsy," the source said.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles times is reporting the circumstances of Jackson's death remain unclear. Law enforcement sources said that Los Angeles Police Department robbery-homicide detectives have opened an investigation into the death, though they stressed there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The detectives plan to interview relatives, friends and Jackson's doctors to try to figure out what happened. The L.A. County coroner's office will determine a cause of death.

Did Jackson's Family Attempt An Intervention Over Prescription Drug Use?

JacksonVegasInt200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - With reports surfacing that an overdose of the prescription drug Demerol may have led to the sudden death of Michael Jackson, People magazine is reporting his family may have once tried to have an intervention in Las Vegas.

According to the magazine, back in 2006 Jackson family members gathered in the hopes the pop star would seek treatment for his reported dependence on prescription painkillers.

"The family believes Michael was addicted," People reports. "There was an intervention in Las Vegas. Janet was on the phone, but Randy, Jackie and Rebbie were there in person," a source said.

Michael reportedly became angry at the family's accusations, saying "he wasn't on drugs."

At the time of the intervention, the family feared a Jackson confidant was providing him powerful prescription drugs obtained from several doctors.

Jackson reportedly regularly consumed alcohol and took morphine, Demerol and opiates like Oxycontin, as well as anxiety drugs like Valium and Xanax.

After Jackson's death, family attorney Brian Oxman said he believed drugs will prove to be a factor.

"If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it's nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson's life," Oxman told CNN.

"Michael was working so hard to make his comeback in London work so it would be fitting if Justin an some of his friends fulfilled at least some of that commitment in some small way."

Could Michael Jackson Have Been Saved?

JacksonPulse200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson was warm to the touch and had a faint pulse when paramedics arrived at his Holmby Hills mansion, according to documents reviewed by X17online.

Although he had stopped breathing, Jackson's heart was still beating when a private physician began efforts to resuscitate the pop star.

"He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn't breathing," an attorney for Dr. Conrad Murray told the Associated Press. "Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

The attorney also denied that his client prescribed or administered Demerol or Oxycontin to Jackson.

Paramedics were called to Jackson's mansion while the doctor performed CPR. In total, more than two hours was spent trying to save the singer.

Jackson was pronounced dead after being transported to UCLA Medical Center.

Jackson's Body Was Bald, Bruised and Dangerously Thin

JacksonBald200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's body was a "virtual skeleton" and his hips, thighs and shoulders were covered with needle wounds, believed to be the result of narcotic injections, The Sun reports.

The British newspaper reports that leaked autopsy details reveal Jackson's stomach was empty except for partially digested pills which were removed for toxicology tests.

Jackson had reportedly also lost all of his hair and was wearing a wig when he died.

The report also revealed that Jackson had various scars from numerous plastic surgeries. The bridge of his nose was missing and the right side of his nose was collapsed.

Several of Jackson's ribs were broken, apparently by chest compressions made during the attempt to save his life. There were also four injection sites near his heart where doctors had attempted to pump adrenalin directly into the organ.

Results of the initial autopsy performed by the Los Angeles County Coroner were "deferred" until toxicology reports come back. The Jackson family has reportedly asked for a second autopsy to be done by a private firm.

New Questions About Michael Jackson's Will, While Joe Jackson Talks About Kid's Future

JacksonPresser200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Despite rumors that Michael Jackson died without a will, new reports say a former attorney intends to file a will prepared several years ago in the next 30 days.

Also today, Katherine Jackson filed a petition with the court asking to be named executor of the estate, however her filing makes no mention of a will.

Meantime, this morning Joe Jackson held a news conference with Al Sharpton. The elder Jackson announced that his wife Katherine is now the temporary legal guardian of Michael's three children.

"We're the parents. This is where they belong. We're going to take care of them and give them the education they're supposed to have."

"Debbie Rowe has nothing to do with what we're doing," Jackson added, referring to the biological mother of two of Jackson's children.

Jackson also dismissed rumors that Michael will be buried at Neverland Ranch. However, the burial is not expected to take place until after a second autopsy is performed.

"We're searching to see what happened to Michael. I want to see how this autopsy is coming out, the second autopsy. I'm expecting to hear about it real soon," said Jackson.

JacksonDetectives200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Several detectives from the LAPD as well as an officer from the Los Angeles Coroner's Department spent the day at Michael Jackson's rented mansion in Holmby Hills.

Online reports say they may have been collecting additional medications taken by Jackson in the days leading up to his death on Thursday.

While the Jackson family remains at their home in Encino, a large group of media and a steady stream of fans continued to file past the large Mediterranean house Jackson was leasing for a reported $100,000 a month.

Video Of Michael's Last Performance Could Offer Clues To His Death

JacksonConcert200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - On Wednesday night, Michael Jackson was at Los Angeles' Staples Center rehearsing for his planned 50-concert run in London. And video cameras were rolling.

AEG, the company producing the concerts, filmed all of Jackson's rehearsals, including the one on the night before his death.

The tapes, reportedly more than 100 hours of footage, could offer clues into Jackson's health in the days and weeks leading up to his death. Investigators will study the tapes carefully to see if any sign of the singer's impending doom are evident. Those backing him financially claim that the singer was fit and energetic, while many of his close friends contend that the 50-year-old was frail and out of shape.

Fans may someday get a chance to see the videos. It's reported that there is enough material for two live albums of Jackson performing his most well known hits.

Joe Jackson Reportedly Cut Out Of Will

JoeJacksonWill200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - According to Michael Jackson's will prepared in 2002, the singer's estate is to be divided among his mother and three children. Jackson's father Joe was purposefully left out of the will.

It has been reported that Jackson's parents believed the singer died without a will.

The 2002 will has not yet been filed with the court. That is expected to happen sometime this week in Los Angeles.

At stake is Jackson's fortune valued by some at as much as a billion dollars. However the singer is also believed to have debts of at least half that much.

Jackson's rocky relationship with his father is well documented. Jackson has alleged that his father often beat him as a child and that he would become physically ill in his presence.

Michael Jackson's Kids: Not Biological, Never Adopted

JacksonKids200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The children of Michael Jackson were never formally adopted by him, despite new reports he is not the biological father of the children.

This bombshell is being reported by TMZ.com who've uncovered evidence that neither Jackson nor Debbie Rowe are biologically related to Prince Michael Jackson Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, or Prince Michael Jackson, II.

The children were reportedly all conceived using donated sperm and eggs.

Several online reports say Beverly Hills Dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein may be the children's biological father.

It's not clear why Jackson never legally secured his parental rights to the children he's raised since they were born. It is believed Jackson may have thought other legal arrangement would prevent any claims or custody challenges.

It's not clear how this revelation will affect Michael's mother Katherine in her attempts win custody of the Jackson's children.

OKMagCover200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X17online has learned that OK Magazine paid $500,000 for the last known pic of Jackson, a harrowing photo from inside the ambulance that they're featuring prominently on the cover.

Debbie Rowe Is Biological Mother Of Jackson Kids, Attorney Says

DROWE011104_02x.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Debbie Rowe is fighting back against rumors that she has no genetic relationship to the two children she carried for Michael Jackson.

In an interview with Radaronline.com Rowe's attorney Marta Almli says "without a doubt" her client is the biological mother of Michael Jackson, Jr. and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson.

"Particularly hurtful and insidious is the most recent rumor -- which is entirely false -- concerning the maternity of the children," the attorney said. "Ms. Rowe is the biological mother of the two oldest children."

The attorney went on to say Rowe would not be commenting further about the allegations but added, "the vast majority of what is out there is untrue."

Michael Jackson Neverland Memorial Cancelled

jackonogo200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - An effort to bury Michael Jackson at Neverland Ranch has fallen through, and it appears more likely that a funeral and burial will take place in Los Angeles, according to an Associated Press report.

Authorities in Santa Barbara County had been preparing for tens of thousands of fans to show up to the 2,500-acre ranch for a public viewing on Friday, but a source close to the family has revealed that "nothing is planned for Neverland at least through Friday." The source added, "The family is aware a Neverland burial is not possible. They are expected to make decisions about whatever funeral and memorial service."

A private memorial service for family and friends could take place at the ranch, but the source said that Thomas Barrack, the co-owner of Neverland, sought an exemption to bury the singer at the ranch, which further complicates matters.

In order to bury Jackson on the property, the family would need to get permission from local land-use officials and submit an application and paperwork with the state Cemetery and Funeral Bureau. The state application would then need to be approved by the funeral board, a process that could take anywhere from seven to 30 days.

Jermaine Jackson Says Michael's Children Saw Their Father's Dead Body

jermainetalks200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's older brother Jermaine told The Today Show's Matt Lauer this morning that Paris, Prince, and Prince II saw their father's dead body recently as part of the grieving process.

Lauer ventured to Neverland Ranch for the first interview with any Jackson family member since the death of Michael Jackson.

Jermaine talked about his mother Katherine's reaction the news of her son's death last week:

"She was crying, saying he was dead. And Matt, to hear my mother say, 'Michael is dead,' to feel and hear the tone in her voice to say her child is dead, is nothing that anyone can ever imagine... He went too soon. I wish that it was me. I've always felt that I was his backbone, someone to be there for him. I was there and he was sort of like Moses. The things he couldn't say, I would say them."

The elder Jackson also talked about the grieving process for the children, saying that a hospital therapist thought it best that Prince, Paris and "Blanket" see their father's dead body so they could understand what had happened.

"I know it's tough, but I think it was the best thing to do. At first I was against it, but what do you say if you don't show them?"

Michael Jackson's Funeral May Be Open Casket

jacko76.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Plans for Michael Jackson's memorial service at the Staples Center are emerging, as news that Michael's body could be on display at the sports arena is being reported by CNN. Jackson's family is reportedly still considering an open casket viewing at the public memorial tomorrow, an event which is expected to draw far more than the 17,500 people who will receive tickets.

LAPD seems very concerned with crowd control, and they have already decided to set up a perimeter several blocks around the memorial site, which would make it impossible for anyone without a wristband and a ticket to get in. Concern has also been expressed over who will help fund the extra security measures for the event - city councilman Dennis Zine has suggested that Jackson's family and AEG Live pitch in, and he makes a good argument. Zine tells The Guardian, "If the Jackson family's gonna spend $25,000 on a gold casket, I would think that AEG and the Jackson family could help defray the costs so it's a safe and secure environment for mourners that want to come."

As expected, The Associated Press reports that tickets for the memorial service are already appearing on eBay and Craigslist - one eBay listing even asked for a Buy It Now price of $20,000.

Jennifer Hudson will perform at the event, and a live pool feed will be broadcast on all the major networks, so those not fortunate enough to snag tickets can watch from the comfort of their own home. Debbie Rowe is also expected to attend.

Jackson Family Reportedly Divided Over Funeral Plans

FamilyDivided200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's former manger says the family was bitterly divided over what kind of funeral should be held for the pop star.

According to Dr Tohme Tohme, Jackson's brothers wanted an extravagant open-casket funeral, with his body driven thru the streets so fans could throw flowers at the hearse, like the did during the funeral of Princess Diana.

However, Jackson's mother Katherine reportedly overruled them, opting for a more subdued tribute, because she feared an open casket would be too upsetting for Jackson's three children.

There was also disagreement over the final resting place.

"His brothers wanted the final resting place to be Neverland but the rest of the family didn’t want him there for some reason that’s not known to me," Tohme told The Mail on Sunday.

"I tried with some members of the family to provide Neverland as his resting place and to turn it into something. I believe Michael Jackson deserved to be in Neverland – a grand place like Neverland," Tohme said.

"He is the King of Pop and I think we will not see anyone like him in our lifetime."

RowePapFight200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Debbie Rowe has once again found herself in the media spotlight, and she doesn't seem to like it.

Amid speculation about her future role with the children she gave birth to when married to Michael Jackson, many media outlets have been following Rowe's every move.

But that attention appears to be taking a toll on Rowe, who shouted obscenities at photographers as she and friends went to lunch near her home in Palmdale, Calif.

"Are you ready to get your butt kicked?," Rowe shouted. "Don't f***ing touch me!"

Control Of Jackson's Estate Transfered From Mother To Executors

MotherExecutor200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has been replaced as the executor of his estate.

A Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday that Jackson's 2002 will is valid and that his wishes to have attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain serve as executors should be enforced.

Attorneys for Katherine Jackson wanted Judge Mitchell Beckloff to delay the decision.

One of her lawyers, John Schreiber, argued "there is concern over handing over the keys to the kingdom so quickly."

However, the judge disagreed saying "somebody needs to be at the helm of this ship."

Will Jackson's Body Be At Staples Center Memorial?

Jacksonwire200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Online reports are speculating that Michael Jackson's body will be brought to Staples Center for today's memorial.

According to at least one report, Jackson will "lie in state" in an open, elaborate gold casket. The body would be brought by motorcade from Forrest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills where Jackson's body has been prepared for burial and the family attended a private memorial service last night.

A motorcade from Forrest Lawn to Staples Center would disrupt traffic throughout many parts of Los Angeles, not to mention what it would cost the city in terms of police, traffic control officers, and the disruption to local businesses?

Some are suggesting if this happens, the Jackson Estate should pay the cost to the city which could top $2.5 million at least.

Jackson Family Reportedly Wants Burial At Neverland Ranch

NeverFuneral200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Sources tell X17online the Jackson family is still hoping for a permit from Santa Barbara county that would allow them to bury Michael at Neverland.

X17 XCLUSIVE - Michael Jackson's Body Taken To Neverland

JackNever200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X17online has learned that Michael Jackson's body is being taken to Neverland Ranch near Santa Barbara.

While no announcement has been made about burial plans, we do know SOMETHING is going on. The family MUST have something special planned otherwise why would they have waited so long to bury MJ, right? Could it be they've finally gotten the approval to lay him to rest at Neverland?

Another possibility is that Jackson will be cremated and his ashes either stored or spread at Neverland. That would avoid the need to get a permit for burial.

Jackson's Death May Turn Into Criminal Case

CriminInvest200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's family has apparently been told the investigation into his death could turn into a criminal investigation.

"The family is aware of a potential criminal prosecution," an unidentified source told CNN on Thursday.

The comments came on the same day that LA Police Chief William Bratton said detectives were awaiting the coroner's report to decide whether to proceed with the investigation as a homicide or an accidental overdose.

Bratton said detectives have spoken to a number of doctors who have treated Jackson over the years and they are looking into the singer's prescription drug history. Bratton said, "We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner's office as to cause of death.

That is going to be very dependent on the toxicology reports that are due to come back. And based on those, we will have an idea of what it is we are dealing [with]: are we dealing with a homicide or are we dealing with accidental overdose?"

Doctors who did not cooperate with investigators were given subpoenas, and if necessary, authorities will issue more. Bratton added that investigators are being assisted by DEA agents and the state attorney general's office on a case that he called "a comprehensive set of inquiries."

Jackson's Body Held In Crypt Belonging To Berry Gordy

GordyCrypt200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's family is reportedly so divided over what to do with his remains, that his body is being stored in a crypt belonging to Motown founder Berry Gordy.

According to the NY Post, Jackson's remains were brought to the white marble, above ground crypt owned by the Motown founder at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.

Michael's remains are currently the only ones in the mausoleum which is adorned with a distinctive swooping letter "G."

The family is still reportedly split over weather to bury Michael at Neverland Ranch, near Santa Barbara. Michael's mother Katherine is reportedly opposed to the idea, since Michael vowed never to return to the property after Jackson was accused of molesting children on the property. Jackson's brothers, however, strongly want a public memorial for the former King of Pop to be created at Neverland.

To be able to bury Michael at Neverland, the family would need to get approval from Santa Barbara County as well as a certificate the state Cemetery and Funeral Bureau. Neither of which have reportedly been obtained.

Former Employees Reveal Jackson's Excessive Drug Use

jackxanax200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - More details about Michael Jackson's drug habits are beginning to emerge, as former employees reveal what they saw.

CNN obtained a confidential document from 2004 stating that Jackson frequently asked his employees to get the prescription meds under their names, and that he was taking as many as 40 Xanax pills a night.

The document came from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department, and it contains confidential interviews with two of Jackson's former security guards, which were used in preparation for the King of Pop's child molestation trial in 2005.

One security guard told the authorities that he expressed his concern about Jackson's use of 10-plus Xanax pills a night to another staffer.

According to the document, the second staffer replied that Jackson "was doing better because he was down from 30 to 40 Xanax pills a night."

According to the document, the guard who provided the bulk of the information quit his job after Jackson "fell on his face" in a hotel room and hurt himself.

The employee told Jackson he was not comfortable getting prescriptions for him and left, and two of the guards confirmed that they (along with 2 other employees) would get prescriptions for Jackson under their names.

Will Joe Jackson Be Kept Away From Michael's Kids?

joenokids200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has reportedly struck a deal with Debbie Rowe to keep the allegedly domineering Joe Jackson away from Michael's three children.

Rowe, the mother of Michael's two older children, insisted on the arrangement if she was to not seek custody of the kids according to the UK's Daily Mail.

Michael said that his father beat him as a child and is widely blamed for many of Jackson's problems later in life. Joe Jackson is currently estranged from wife Katherine.

Attorneys for Rowe and Katherine Jackson are close to finalizing the details of the agreement which would give Jackson's 79-year-old mother custody of the children.

Debbie Rowe Reportedly Gets Another Big Payday To Give Up Kids

RowePayday200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Jackson family is reportedly paying Debbie Rowe $4 million to drop all claims of parental rights, the New York Post is reporting.

Describing the payment as "a ransom," the Jacksons reportedly worked out the deal with Rowe so that Michael Jackson's two oldest children will be raised by his mother Katherine.

"It's one final payday," a Jackson family friend reportedly told the Post.

Rowe was initially paid $8 million to give up custody of Prince Michael, now 12, and daughter Paris, 11. She received another payment of at least $4 million to give Jackson full custody of the kids after he was charged with child molestation in 2001.

UPDATE: Debbie Rowe's lawyer says the story is "completely false." Eric George tells CNN that right now there is no custody deal between Rowe and the Jackson but that the two sides were working towards an agreement acceptable to both sides.

Joe Jackson Says Michael Could Never Have Completed London Concert Series

JoeLondonConcerts200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Had he lived, Michael Jackson would be performing the second night of his 50 concert run at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday night.

But Jackson's father Joe says he doesn't believe Michael would have ever been able to complete all the scheduled performances.

"The comeback tour was a good idea, but the wrong idea about it; there was more tours added onto it," Joe Jackson told ABC News. "I was worried about his health. No artist can do those many shows back to back like that, and so I knew Michael couldn't do all those shows."

Executives at AEG, the company who was producing the concert series, said Jackson was the one who insisted on adding the additional shows. And Jackson's manager agrees, "He built up his stamina. There would have been no problems, I don't think, with him doing this tour, Frank DiLeo said. "Nobody was pushing him into it. Nobody was overworking him."

Meanwhile, fans marked what would have been Jackson's opening night with an impromptu vigil outside the O2 arena.

Photos Show Possible Evidence Of Jackson Drug Abuse

Jacksonleg200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Disturbing photos obtained by ABC News show a seriously infected wound on Michael Jackson's leg surrounded by what one doctor calls "suspicious needle marks."

"It looks like there are multiple puncture points from IV placement," Dr. Debra Jaliman told ABC News of the photos reportedly taken in 2002.

The wound seen in the photos could have been the result of contact with highly caustic, acidic fluid that would burn the skin and cause it to turn black, the doctor said.

The doctor also noted various needle marks on Jackson's legs and said that placing an IV in a leg would be "very unusual."

Debbie Rowe Files Suit

rowesues200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Debbie Rowe has filed suit against a woman who told the TV show "Extra" Rowe was willing to give up custody of her kids in exhange for a big payday.

Rowe is suing White for defamation, invasion of privacy and emotional distress.

In papers filed with the court, Rowe outlines the allegedly false statements made by White, who claimed she had received an e-mail from Debbie saying "I'm not going after custody...These kids are not mine. They never were mine. They were always Michael's."

Additionally, White said Rowe wrote her in a separate e-mail, "My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children...Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don't want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them. Would Michael want Joe to have them? I think it would be the last thing that he would ever have wanted."

This is not the first time Rebecca White has been accused of making false statements for financial gain. Attorneys allege she's also committed such "malicious acts" against Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Robbie Williams.

Michael Jackson Wanted To Direct

JackoDirector200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson was preparing to direct his first feature film in the months leading up to his death, a producer tells "The Hollywood Reporter."

According to Bryan Michael Stoller, Jackson was planning to direct a drama about foster children, titled "They Cage the Animals at Night," which Stoller said he planned to get started on as soon as he completed his London concerts. The project was based on a 1985 book about the real-life experiences of author Jennings Michael Burch who met with Michael at Neverland Ranch about the project.

It was a project that resonated with Jackson according Stoller.

"Michael told me often he felt like he grew up as an orphan, like a foster kid, because he never was in one home. To him every hotel was like a different foster home. He said he used to sit in the window and see kids playing outside and cry because he couldn't be part of that," Stoller said.

Although no formal deal existed, Stoller says he and Jackson had "a pretty serious meeting" about reviving the flick as an indie feature. "He wanted to do movies the Academy would like," Stoller said. "Michael was going to put up $8 million and not have to deal with any studios or producers and then take it to the studios afterward. He was very passionate about being a director. He was determined to make this movie."

Stoller says Jackson never expressed any interest in acting, however he "wanted [to get] his hands on everything, from working on screenplays to producing, to writing the music."

Coroner's Employees Improperly Viewed Jackson Death Certificate

JacksonDeathCert200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - It looks like morbid curiosity led an unknown number of employees to inappropriately view Michael Jackson's death certificate and other information that should have been off limits on a Los Angeles County Coroner's Office computer.

According to the Los Angeles Times, at least two-dozen coroner's staff members are believed to accessed Jackson's death certificate, which had been viewed 300 times in the two weeks following the pop star's death.

Some apparently printed copies before the document was released publicly. The employees had been warned there was a security hold on the Jackson case file and that unauthorized views would result in disciplinary action.

"There's only one person in the investigation of Mr. Jackson who needed to have a copy of the death certificate, and that was the investigator," said Craig Harvey, chief coroner investigator.

No laws, only internal rules, appear to have been broken.

Additionally, officials discovered that two other computers holding information about the Jackson investigation were not as secure as intended.

“We took extra steps to plug those holes," Harvey said.

Authorities Raid Home of Jackson's Doctor

JackoDoctorLV200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Authorities in Las Vegas conducted a search of Dr. Conrad Murray's home this morning, as speculation grows Michael Jackson's personal physician will be prosecuted for manslaughter.

Dr. Murray has reportedly admitted to giving Jackson the drug Propofol in the hours before the pop singers death on June 25th.

However, Murray's attorney is cautioning against a rush to judgement.

"I have no doubt they want to make a case – for goodness sakes, its Michael Jackson - but things tend to shake out when all the facts are made known." But, said Chernoff's mouthpiece, "Everyone needs to take a breath and wait for these long delayed toxicology results."

"It’s a waste of time responding to all these timed 'leaks' from 'anonymous' sources," a spokesperson for Murray's lawyer Ed Chernoff told RadarOnline.

Michael Jackson's Chef Speaks Out On Doctor's Actions

jackoChefdr200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's personal chef says she first realized there was a problem when his personal doctor didn't come downstairs to bring Michael his usual breakfast of granola and juice.

Kai Chase, 37, tells the Associated Press that Dr. Conrad Murray typically brought Jackson his breakfast, and would often see the doctor carrying oxygen tanks.

But on the morning of June 25, Chase said she was preparing lunch when Dr. Murray came running down the stairs screaming "Go get Prince!"

"He [was] screaming very loud," the chef said. "I ran into the den where the kids were playing. Prince (Jackson's oldest son) runs to meet Dr. Murray and from that point on you could feel the energy in the house change."

Chase says she then walked in to the hall where the children had gathered with other members of the staff. "The daughter was crying. I saw paramedics running up the stairs," Chase recalled.

She says the group - which included the children, their nanny and a housekeeper - held hands and began to pray. "We were all praying, 'Help Mr. Jackson be O.K.'"

"Then everyone was very quiet."

Chase says security guards told her and other staff to leave the house because Jackson was being taken to the hospital.

Katherine Jackson To Get Custody Of Michael's Children

katherinecustody200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Katherine Jackson, 79, and Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of two of Michael Jackson's children, have reached a custody agreement, giving the Jackson matriarch sole custody of kids, it was revealed today in an interview on CBS' Early Show.

Rowe will have visitation rights but will not be paid any money in the deal, which some earlier reports had suspected she was seeking.

Katherine Jackson's attorney L. Londell McMillan told CBS the agreement was in the best interest of the children.

"This is not a money deal. This is not about money. ... There is no situation better for these children than for them to be raised and reared in the loving care of Mrs. Katherine Jackson," McMillan said.

McMillan also addressed some of the other lingering questions:

Will Joe Jackson being involved in raising the kids? McMillan: "I don't think it's valid at all. I think Joe Jackson is the husband of Mrs. Jackson, but he's not living in Los Angeles."

Is it true Michael had a fourth child, Omer Bhatti?
McMillan: "I'm not in the rumor business; I'm in the law business. I'm not going to even entertain those questions right now."

How much of Jackson's estate will Katherine recieve:
She'll get 40% of her son's estate and Jackson's long-time business partners, John McClain and John Branca, will manage all matters of the estate.

How much is Jackson's estate worth?
McMillan estimates it could be worth as much as $2 billion. That is if the estate achieves its potential earnings, and that's if the estate is managed effectively. Michael Jackson in death could be even more of an industry than he was during his lifetime.

The custody of Blanket is not at issue, since he was conceived with the aid of an anonymous surrogate who never had a claim to parental rights.

Debbie Rowe WILL Be Paid To Give Up Fight For Kids

RoweMoney200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Debbie Rowe will receive $4 million for agreeing to a deal that will give Katherine Jackson permanent custody of Michael Jackson's two older children, the New York Post reports.

Both sides had denied that money was a factor in the decision about who would raise Prince Michael and Paris Jackson.

Jackson's ex-wife was reportedly receiving 1 million a year in an "informal" spousal support agreement between her and the king of pop, a payout that Michael's family apparently tried to put a stop to.

That's when Rowe started to make noise about challenging the Jacksons for custody.

"They just want to get rid of her. They recognized early in this process that she had no interest in playing a real role in their lives and that it was all about money," a source told the paper.

"As part of the agreement, they have to say it's not about money."

Speaking by phone with Geraldo Rivera on Fox news, the 79-year-old Jackson matriarch wouldn't say if she holds Dr. Conrad Murray responsible for Michael's death.

That custody arrangement is expected to be made final at a hearing today in Los Angeles.

DEA agents searched the Las Vegas pharmacy on Tuesday and reportedly took evidence linking Murray to the Propofol.

Several media sources had reported charges would be filed against Dr. Conrad Murray for his role in Jackson's death once a final search warrant was executed at a Los Angeles pharmacy.

The reports also said that medical malpractice charges would likely be filed against longtime Jackson dermatologist and friend Dr. Arnold Klein.

Man Says He Was Michael Jackson's Gay Lover

JackoGayLover200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A man who worked for Michael Jackson's Dermatologist says he had a love affair with the pop singer.

Jason Pfeiffer says he met Jackson at Dr. Arnold Klein's Beverly Hills office. He claims the pair had a clandestine relationship and called Jackson his "soul mate."

"We had to make sure we were not caught, and although the date was short as I had to take him home before anyone noticed, we had a great time, Pfeiffer tells The Sun newspaper.

"I thought nobody else knew, but have since discovered that others did surmise the truth."

Pfeiffer also claims Jackson had a premonition about his untimely death.

"[Jackson] completely changed in the final two weeks," Pfeiffer claims. "He was overly religious, overly dramatic, exhausting and exhausted. He was saying goodbyes the week before passing. Everyone was creeped out by it.

JACKSON'S DEATH RULED HOMICIDE

jackhomicide200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's death has been ruled a homicide according to a law enforcement official who spoke to the Associated Press.

This follows the news that a lethal level of the drug Propofol was found in Michael Jackson's body according to the LA Times.

CLICK HERE to see all of X17online's Michael Jackson photo galleries

According to the Times, Dr. Conrad Murray said he'd been treating Jackson's insomnia with 50 milligrams of Propofol every night for the previous six weeks. However, the doctor claimed he was worried Jackson was becoming dependent on the drug and tried to reduce the dosage.

On the day Jackson died, Murray had tried giving Jackson valium followed by lorazepam and midazolam to help him fall asleep. At 10:40 a.m. Jackson was still awake and demanded Propofol from Murray. The doctor then injected Jackson with the powerful anesthetic. Murray left Jackson to sleep and went to make several phone calls. When the doctor returned, he found Jackson wasn't breathing.

According to the LA Times, Murray acknowledged to police he gave Jackson Propofol, but investigators have not been able to find evidence that he had purchased, ordered or obtained the medication under his medical license or Drug Enforcement Administration tracking number.

Eight bottles of Propofol were found in Jackson's house along with other vials and pills that had been prescribed by Dr. Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger.

Dr. Murray, who accompanied Jackson to the hospital but refused to sign the death certificate, could face involuntary manslaughter charges for giving Jackson Propol outside of the safety of a hospital setting.

X17online was the first to report that Jackson had been rushed to the hospital, and as you can see in these pictures and video, it's clear that Jackson wasn't breathing at the time EMTs were called.

Coroner Says Jackson's Cause Of Death Is "Acute Propofol Intoxication"

jackoauto200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has released the cause of Michael Jackson's death, and they say that the king of pop suffered "acute Propofol intoxication." The report also states that other conditions contributing to death included the use of Benzodiazepines, a group of drugs taken to treat anxiety and insomnia.

It should come as no surprise that the manner of death was ruled as a homicide, and though the coroner did not release the full autopsy report, they did issue a press release:

"The drugs Propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson's death. Other drugs detected were: Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine."

Joe Jackson Thinks Someone "Should Pay" For Michael Jackson's Death

joejax200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Joe Jackson sat down with The Today Show to do yet another interview, and while he seemed to be fairly composed, he did express some anger towards those involved in his son's death.

The interview was taped on Saturday at the Palms in Las Vegas, and Joe talked about Michael's children, how he's coping and how the Jackson family wants justice for the king of pop's death, which has been ruled a homicide. Joe said that all of the individuals responsible for Michael's demise “should pay," and he seemed determined to find out how so many people close to the late pop icon let him meet his end this way.

Michael Jackson Laid To Rest Tonight In Private Service At Forest Lawn

mjfuneral200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The King of Pop will finally be laid to rest tonight, over two months after he passed away.

In a private, "friends and family" only service, Michael Jackson will be interred in the Great Mausoleum at LA's Forest Lawn, which houses, among others, Walt Disney, John Wayne, and Nat King Cole.

CNN reports that Gladys Knight will be performing at the service, but other than that, it appears to be quite low-key compared to the memorial service held in July.

The mausoleum was closed yesterday in preparation for tonight's funeral, which bars the media from attending.

Family And Friends Say Their Final Goodbyes To Michael Jackson

katherinefuneral200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A 31-car motorcade of family and close friends left the Jackson compound in Encino at 7pm last night and headed to Forest Lawn Memorial Park for Michael Jackson's burial, more than two months after the King of Pop died.

The service started about an hour and a half later than planned. Some of Michael's close friends, including Liz Taylor and Macaulay Culkin, were present. All roads into the cemetery were close to the public.

Michael's children, - Paris, Prince, and Blanket - were with their grandmother, dressed in black, looking somber.

Jackson is interred in the mausoleum in the same golden casket that held his body, alongside the likes of Clarke Gable, Walt Disney and Jean Harlow. The public will not be able to see the crypt up close - only from the roped-off entrance to the mausoleum.

Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Postponed Until Next Year

mjtribute200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Michael Jackson Tribute Concert originally scheduled for September 26th in Vienna has been postponed until next summer.

Citing scheduling conflicts with many of the major talents who had reportedly signed on, Jackson's brother Jermaine broke the news that the family would have to scrap the plans for an elaborate concert outside of a Vienna castle, and would instead plan for a show to take place June of 2010 at London's O2 stadium, the very place Michael had been planning to debut his comeback tour.

On the tribute website, Jermaine wrote:

"I personally have spoken to many international artists and invited them to attend THE TRIBUTE and perform one of Michael’s songs. Several leading artists immediately agreed to participate in this unique tribute show. Many others told me personally that it would be a great honor to be part of this memorial concert for my late brother – an artist who influenced the music world like virtually no other. However, due to the short time frame involved it just was not possible for many of them to change their schedule so that they could be on stage in Vienna on September 26th.

We have therefore decided, after careful consideration, to reschedule THE TRIBUTE concert for my brother to June 2010 and to stage this very special music event in London. Here, over 70,000 fans will have the opportunity to experience the life and music of my beloved late brother. We will hold the concert in the city that he himself chose for his comeback concerts but, due to his tragic death, he was not able to do.

Instead of eight weeks we now have eight months to prepare and some of the stars who would not have been able to participate in the Vienna concert, but expressed their wish to participate in this event, will be able to perform live on stage in London in June 2010."

Jackson Blasts Family In Secret Tapes

mjsecrettapes200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson blasts his own family in secret tapes recording during an interview with the ghostwriter of his autobiography Moonwalk.

In the recordings, obtained by NOTW, Jackson calls his brothers lazy, Janet a tomboy who broke his heart when she got married to James Debarge in 1984, LaToya "Ms. Nice and Nasty," says his mother "disappointed" him and his father was an abusive "mystery man."

"The brothers didn't give me support," Michael says when talking about the Jackson 5. "We'd be working on a TV show or video and they'd be sitting around moaning and groaning but I'd be watching and learning. It takes a talent, but some people are lazy and don't want to develop anything."

As for his father, Jackson revealed how Joe would beat the boys during rehearsals if they made one wrong step. "He would sit in a chair with a belt or a switch and we'd do our performance. And if we messed up he hit you." Jackson reveals that although he was never hit that much while they were rehearsing, he got it worse than anyone outside of the business, for talking back to Joe.

He also reveals, that although his brothers found him to be the "wimpy" one, it was Michael who stood up to Motown chief, Berry Gordy. "They thought I was naive, soft and sweet and wimpy, but I wasn't. It was me who went to Berry Gordy and said, 'We're gonna leave'."

You can listen to the secret tapes, recorded at Neverland Ranch, HERE.

Michael Jackson Calls Hitler A Genius, Disses Madonna

MJhitler200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson sat down with close friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach over 8 years ago for an interview, and though the late pop icon made some rather incendiary remarks, the Daily Mail reports that he knew the tapes would be released one day.

At one point during the interview, Nazi leader Adolf Hitler's name came up. Though Jackson's intent probably wasn't to praise Hitler, he certainly had plenty to say about the murderous dictator. "Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was." When asked if he had the ability to make Hitler change, Jackson said, "Absolutely. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong."

He also told the rabbi he wanted to date Princess Diana, but he was too shy to ask her out. He said, "I thought she was very special - very feminine and classy. She was my type for sure and I don't like most girls. It takes a very special mould to make me happy and she was one of them."

So what about someone like Madonna? Michael told the rabbi he was convinced that Madonna was in love with him, but thought she was jealous of his success, saying, "I think she was in love with me and I was not in love with her. We had nothing in common. She is not sexy at all."

Anka To Get Half The Profits Of Jackson's New Single

jackoanka200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - After the embarrassing admission that Michael Jackson's This Is It was really a re-recording of a song co-written by MJ and Paul Anka in 1983 called I Never Heard, Jackson's estate has agreed to split the profits with Anka.

"They realize it's a mistake, they realize it's my song, they realize it's my production of his vocal in my studio and I am getting 50 percent of the whole project, actually, which is fair," said Anka yesterday.

Considering that sales of Jackson's music soared immediately following his death, we can safely assume that Anka will receive a nice payday from This Is It.

Michael's Kids To Star In Jackson Reality Show

jacksonskids200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A&E's The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty, which is to feature the family coming together after the tragic death of its' most famous son, will also feature Michael's kids, Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7, as part of the cast.

A source tells Us that Michael's oldest sister Rebbie, who has refused to be part of the series, "feels Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on this show."

But Janet is apparently on board with the kids being on-camera. As for Katherine, their grandmother and guardian, she's "just going along with things."

Although exposing the kids Michael took such pains to protect from cameras, going so far as to make them wear masks whenever out in public, may be seen as exploiting them, the network seemed pleased with the show, which is set to air in December.

"We have 23 cast members with the last name Jackson," executive producer Jodi Gomes told the mag. "They've done a great job opening up about losing a brother."

Michael Jackson's Death Officially Ruled A Murder

MJcauseadjust.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson’s death has been officially ruled a murder, as his death certificate has been amended to list homicide as the cause of death.

The original certificate, issued on July 7, did not list the cause of death, but after several weeks of investigations the certificate was re-released in August by medical examiner Christopher Thomas with homicide as the official cause.

So will Dr. Conrad Murray be prosecuted for his hand in Jackson's death? Though the DA won't comment on the case, Murray's attorney J. Michael Flanagan has said that it will be difficult for the court to charge Murray with involuntary manslaughter, as they will have to base a case on gross negligence, which apparently is no easy feat.

UCLA Medical Center Fires Employees Over Leaked Michael Jackson Info

mjpic200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The UCLA Medical Center is under fire once again for allowing unauthorized employees to look at Michael Jackson's medical records, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center has been fined $95,000 by state health regulators.

The LA Times reports that this investigation stems from "multiple violations" that led to two employees being fired. In addition to those two employees, two hospital contract workers were also fired for accessing Jackson's files.

In the past, the medical center has come under fire for privacy violations involving Britney Spears, Farrah Fawcett and Maria Shriver.

X17online has obtained this statement from The UCLA Medical Center regarding the Michael Jackson situation:

In the past three years, the UCLA Health System has made a determined effort to train and test its employees on patient privacy laws and implemented a wide range of safeguards to ensure patient confidentiality. Our vigilant monitoring detected these breaches, which we self-reported to the California Department of Public Health. The individuals involved were dismissed. We are proud of the progress we have made. However, the UCLA Health System continues its commitment to seek ways to improve and enhance our policies, procedures and infrastructures to ensure the confidentiality of our patients’ medical records.

Joe Jackson Sues Conrad Murray For Wrongful Death

joepic200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Joe Jackson is asking for unspecified damages in connection with Michael Jackson's death. According to the wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray, the nominal plaintiffs are listed as Katherine Jackson and Michael's three children.

In the court papers to be filed today by Brian Oxman, Joe's attorney, it reads:

"Mr. Jackson believes there are other parties responsible for Michael Jackson's death but has not yet gathered sufficient information regarding their potential liability or responsibility."

Joe claims that Dr. Murray kept important information from the EMTs and doctors who were trying to save Michael's life a year ago today ... specifically that he had given the singer Propofol.

Also in the papers ... the claim that Dr. Murray didn't keep adequate medical records on Jackson, which is required by California law.

Dr. Conrad Murray still backs up his story that he did not administer the fatal dose of Propofol to Michael Jackson.

Neverland To Possibly Become A State Park

jackson200pic.jpg
SANTA BARBARA, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's former home, Neverland, may become a California state park if California state lawmaker Mike Davis has his way.

The lawmaker has suggested that the California Department of Parks and Recreation take over the Santa Barbara County ranch. He says one of his main reasons for the suggestion is for the fans to be able to visit the property.

Neverland is a 2,500-acre estate that, at one time, had amusement park rides and animals. After Michael's death in 2009, most of the attractions were taken down and sold.

Back in 2008, Michael Jackson signed over control of Neverland to Colony Capital for a reported $35 million. The company co-owns the property with the Jackson family.

According to Davis, he may introduce a resolution or bill this August regarding Neverland becoming a state park.

Joe Jackson Appeals Probate Court's Dismissal Of Estate-Related Objections

joejackson200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Joe Jackson is fighting back after the probate court threw out his objections to have John Branca and John McClain oversee his son Michael's estate.

Michael's father has filed an appeal, and arguments will be heard today in court. The judge, who dismissed Joe Jackson's objections, said that Jackson "did not have standing to intervene in the case."

Brian Oxman, Joe's lawyer, will reportedly challenge the validity of Michael Jackson's 2002 will ... a document that clearly omitted his father from receiving money.

Katherine Jackson, as well as Michael's three children, are the primary beneficiaries of the estate.

Syringes And IV Bags Used On Michael Jackson To Possibly Undergo Testing

mjface200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The criminal case against Dr. Conrad Murray, who is charged with Michael Jackson's death, could possibly involve the testing of syringes and IV bags found in the King of Pop's home.

Defense attorneys requested that the fluids from two syringes undergo testing to determine how much Propofol and lidocaine were inside.

A hearing has been scheduled for December 29 to allow the Superior Court judge to listen to the arguments from both sides involving the tests. As for Murray, he has plead not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Dr. Conrad Murray's Defense To Argue Michael Jackson Killed Himself

mj200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The defense for Dr. Conrad Murray will argue Michael Jackson's death was actually a suicide, a prosecutor said during a hearing Wednesday.

"I do think it's clear the defense is operating under the theory that the victim, Michael Jackson, killed himself. They don't want to say it but that's the direction in which they are going," Deputy District Attorney David Walgren revealed.

The statement came at a hearing where a lawyer for Dr. Conrad Murray clashed with the prosecutor over who should test residue from two syringes found in Jackson's bedroom. It has been suggested during a short period when Murray left the room Jackson could have injected himself with more Propofol.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled to begin Jan. 4. The Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor will then decide if there is sufficient evidence to hold Murray for trial.

Murray told the judge he would agree to the delay if the screening of prospective jurors begins on March 24.

Judge Pastor has scheduled a status hearing for March 9.

Christina Aguilera To Perform at Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

bigthumb.caguilerarutler060311_08_X17200.jpgLOS ANGELES, CA (X17online) - Christina Aguilera has been added to the long list of performers that will pay tribute to Michael Jackson at "Michael Forever — The Tribute Concert" in October.

Aguilera will join Cee Lo Green, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Craig David, and Alien Ant Farm.

The tribute concert has been a divisive issue for the Jackson family; while Katherine Jackson and a number of Michael’s siblings endorse the event, Jermaine and Randy Jackson have expressed their disapproval of it.

"We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family," the two brothers said in a statement released last month. "While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death."

“Michael Forever – The Tribute Concert” will be held at the Millennium Stadium in Wales on October 8.

Jackson Estate Suing Insurer of "This Is It" Tour

bigthumb.MJacksonArchivX17_008_X17200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Michael Jackson estate is taking legal action against Lloyd's of London, the insurers of the late singer’s “This Is It” tour.

Lloyd’s issued a $17.5 million policy in 2009 to cover potential losses for Jackson’s tour. Following Jackson’s death, however, the insurance group asked a Los Angeles Court to declare the policy null and void, alleging that the singer lied about his drug addiction and medical history.

Lloyd’s of London also claims that the policy was “restricted to losses resulting from accident only,” calling attention to Jackson’s official cause of death being “homicide.”

Jackson’s estate is now filing a counter-claim, insisting that Jackson did not intend to die, therefore rendering his death accidental.

The Michael Jackson estate is also seeking punitive damages in addition to the original $17.5 million.

Jury In Dr. Conrad Murray Trial Will Not Be Sequestered

conradmurray200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - An L.A. Superior Court judge rejected a defense motion to have jurors sequestered in the upcoming trial of Michael Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.

Murray’s defense lawyers requested Thursday morning that jurors be kept away from “the court of public opinion” in what they anticipate will be “the most publicized [trial] in history.”

Judge Michael E. Pastor disagreed, however, stating: "I do not find sequestration to be the answer in this case. If this were a close call, I would unhesitatingly order sequestration..."

Jury selection for Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial will begin Sept. 8, and opening statements are scheduled for Sept. 27.

Jury Selection Begins For Dr. Conrad Murray Trial

cmurray200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) Jury selection has begun for the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.

Attorneys began the screening process of about 160 prospective jurors Thursday morning in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom. When Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael E. Pastor asked if any of the potential jurors had not heard of the case, no one raised their hands.

"We didn't expect that you've been living under a rock for the last few years, or you'd made a pit stop here from Mars,” the judge remarked.

Murray is accused of involuntarily killing Jackson in June 2009 by administering a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol. Though Murray admits to administering the drug to Jackson in the past, he and his defense attorneys claim that someone other than Murray administered the dose that resulted in Jackson’s death.

Officials anticipate that it will take about two weeks to gather a pool of 100 people who are willing and qualified to serve on the case, which will be measured in a questionnaire of about 30 pages. A total of 12 people will ultimately constitute the jury.

The opening statements for Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
