LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Mischa Barton plead no contest today to DUI charges stemming from her December 27 arrest and as a result, the actress was put on three years' probation.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court confirmed that Barton, 22, is also required to attend a three month alcohol education program. Additionally, Barton was fined approximately $1600 and as a part of her plea; the marijuana possession charges were dropped.

Barton, who is best known for her role as Marissa on The OC, was not present at the hearing.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Mischa Barton is returning to prime time TV. The former "The O.C" actress will star in the pilot "A Beautiful Life" for The CW network.

Ashton Kutcher is producing the show which focuses on the lives of a group of male and female models sharing a home in New York City.

Barton will play Sonja, a supermodel and veteran of the high-fashion circuit who is struggling to keep on top.

Barton, a former model, has appeared in ads for companies Calvin Klein, bebe stores, Aeropostale, and Dooney & Bourke.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Mischa Barton has been involuntarily placed in the psychiatric ward of Cedars-Sinai Hospital by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The former O.C. star has been placed on a 5150 hold.

"She has been dealing with a lot of personal issues," a friend tells People magazine.

Barton has been spotted club hopping in L.A. and London the past few months. "I don't know if she really ever gave up some of the bad habits that had gotten out of control a couple years back."

In 2007, Barton was arrested for DUI, marijuana possession and driving without a license.

According to Barton's publicist, the actress called authorities on Wednesday to help her with a "medical problem" and is now "resting at the hospital."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A week after she was taken by police to Los Angeles Mental Health facility, Mischa Barton is reportedly "making improvements" and plans to return to work, according to her spokesperson.

The spokesperson went on to say Barton, 23, is "still seeking treatment" for an undisclosed medical condition.

Barton is scheduled to return to work on the new CW series "The Beautiful Life" later this month, according to the network.

Last week, Los Angeles police placed the former "The OC" actress on a 5150 hold after being summoned to her Hollywood Hills home.

Neither police, nor Barton's spokesperson will comment on the exact nature of her illness.
