Nightmare On Elm Street Not A Box Office Dream
LOS ANGELES, Calfornia (X17online) - Nightmare On Elm Street hits theaters today, but several reports claim that the remake doesn't have the appeal the original movie once did. Wes Craven's 1984 classic became New Line's horror franchise for the 80's, but this version is leaving audiences sleepy.
In addition to the irreplaceable Robert Englund not playing Freddy Krueger, critics are slamming the 2010 Elm Street version for ripping off direct scenes from the original.
As for reviews, the Washington Post gives the movie less than one star, and the LA Times says, "This 'Nightmare' is mostly stale goods."
Warner Bros. Pictures is behind the 2010 version. Elm Street has appearances by Twilight star, Kellan Lutz and Melrose Place's Katie Cassidy.
