Ryan O'Neal RONeal200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Ryan O'Neal and his son Redmond have been arrested on suspicion of narcotics possession. The pair were taken into custody at the actor's Malibu home Wednesday morning according to authorities.

Sheriff's deputies say they were performing a probation search when they found Redmond O'Neal, 24, in possession of methamphetamine and discovered a vial of methamphetamine in the elder O'Neal's bedroom.

Father and son were arrested and booked at the Malibu Sheriff's station. Bail was set at $10,000.

Both men have been arrested before. Redmond, whose mother is actress Farrah Fawcett, was arrested last year on drug and DUI charges in Malibu, according to "The Los Angeles Times."

Ryan O'Neal, 67, was arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm after firing a gunshot during an argument with another son, Griffin O'Neal.

And earlier this summer, Ryan's daughter Tatum O'Neal was arrested for buying crack cocaine in New York city.

The two were arrested Wednesday after a probation officer reportedly found Redmond with a vial of methamphetamine and additional drugs inside Ryan's bedroom at their Malibu home.

Redmond, O'Neal's son with actress Farrah Fawcett, is on probation for an earlier drug arrest.

The O'Neal family has a long and troubled history of drug problems and arrests.

Ryan was arrested for allegedly firing a gun during an argument with his other son, Griffin.

"He had a little gun, he shot a little shot but he didn't point it in any ones direction," neighbor Charlie Mattera told "CBS News."

Griffin has fought drug addiction for many years. In 1986, Griffin faced manslaughter charges following a boating accident that killed the son of director Francis Ford Coppola. Griffin was on drugs at the time of the incident.

Ryan's daughter, Oscar-winner Tatum O'Neal, has also battled addiction. This summer she was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession while in New York City.

O'Neal and his son Redmon are facing charges of felony possession of narcotics.

Farrah Fawcett Has Had A "Terrible" Year, Says Ryan O'Neal

farrahryan200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - On Friday, NBC will air "Farrah's Story," a two hour documentary that the "Charlie's Angels" actress began filming when she was first diagnosed with cancer in September of 2006.

The doc gives viewers an inside look at Fawcett's struggle over the past three years, and "The Today Show" aired several clips this morning.

Ryan O'Neal sat down with "Today" co-host Meredith Vieira to discuss the documentary. He tells her about Fawcett's battle with cancer, "I think she may have believed that she would survive. That's not how it's going. She's had a terrible time in the last year, a terrible time."

On Fawcett's determination to document her journey, O'Neal added, "There were times that she got terribly ill and began to vomit. She didn't care. She was possessed. She's been on film all her life, since she was 19 or 20, you know. So, I guess, no big deal."

O'Neal also opened up about his troubled son Redmond, telling Viera, "He's in jail so much," but he added that mother and son do share a strong bond, as evident in their recent visit. Ryan was temporarily released from jail to visit his mother at home, and O'Neal says, "He just wanted to see her, to hold her, to apologize. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgave him."

Ryan O'Neal Hit On Daughter At Farrah's Funeral

RyanFuneral200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Ryan O'Neal was apparently looking for a date during the funeral for his longtime companion Farrah Fawcett.

If that's not bad enough, the woman he hit on was his own daughter, Tatum.

Ryan tells the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair that when he was hugged by a hot blonde at Farrah's service, his initial response was to flirt with her, until he realized who it was.

“I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me,” Ryan said.

“I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me—Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”

While many would find the incident in poor taste on a number of levels, O'Neal's daughter is able to just laugh off the incident

“That’s our relationship in a nutshell,” Tatum told the VF. “You make of it what you will. It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.”
