New "Sex and the City" Book Planned

Sex and The City SJParker200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - A new "Sex and the City" book will be targeted at teen readers. "The Carrie Diaries" by "Sex and the City" author Candace Bushnell will take readers back to Carrie Bradshaw's formative years in high school, giving an inside look at Carrie's friendships, romances, and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer.

"I've always been interested in exploring Carrie's teenage years," Bushnell said. "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd--she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene."

The book is scheduled to be published in the Fall of 2010.

Some theaters have already sold out for certain showings for the female flick starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.

Industry sources reveal that SATC2 ticket sales were selling faster than this weekend's hit Kick-Ass. As for the original SATC movie, it brought in $415 million in worldwide box office, and the sequel is expected to bring in even more.

Regal Cinemas marketing boss Dick Westerling says, "Women across the country are anxious to plan events and activities related to their evening out to see the film, and they want confirmation that they have tickets. Based on our experience with the first film, this can become quite an elaborate and fun-filled evening."

Sex And The City Reportedly Headed Back To TV

SarahJessicaParkerSATC081411.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Sex and the City is heading back to the small screen, according to the Daily Mail.

There had been plans in place for a movie about Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda's early lives. However, everyone involved reportedly feels a TV show will be the best place to go for the franchise, though series creator Darren Star has the final say.

There has been much speculation about who will play the early versions of the famed characters, but the newspaper claims that Elizabeth Olsen, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez and Emma Roberts are at the top of the list.

If the new show goes through, SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker will produce."She was worried about doing another film after the bad reaction to the SATC2 movie, but a TV show is definitely something she wants to happen," the Daily Mail's source says.
