X17 XCLUSIVE: Lindsay Is "Severely Depressed" According To A Friend!

Yesterday a close associate of Lindsay's spoke exclusively to an X17 photographer and revealed that Lindsay is "severely depressed right now," and this is "the second day in a row she's been secluded."

We can only imagine that this must be somehow be related to those breakup rumors, and we haven't seen Lindsay and Sam together for several days now, so we think there could be some truth to this!

X17 photographers say it appears as though Lindsay has moved out of Sam's Hollywood Hills home and has been staying elsewhere for the past two nights. Lindsay last spent the night at Sam's on Saturday, and she was snapped leaving on Sunday morning around 10:30am. On Sunday afternoon, Linds went to her assistant's house (minus her lady love), and then we caught up with a solo Sam yesterday afternoon, but that's the last we've seen of either of the girls.

So let's add up the evidence: several websites reported on Monday that Lindsay and Sam were history (and that Linds was getting her own pad in Los Angeles), but later that night, Lindsay denied the rumors, writing on her MySpace blog that her and Sam "did NOT break up!"

HOWEVER, we haven't seen the two together since New Year's (and just last night Linds went out to Apple Lounge sans Samantha, reports E! Online), so why would Lindsay deny a breakup if she's clearly not living with Sam anymore and suffering from "severe depression?" Is she avoiding the inevitable 'statement' she'll have to release, or is she hoping for a reconciliation? Or is everything peachy in Rohanland?
