Nicole Richie co-hosted The View this morning where the subject of Charlie Sheen's recent radio rant against his Two and a Half Men employers came up during the show's Hot Topics segment.

The former wild-child, who has been arrested three times and been to rehab once, says that sobriety is Charlie's responsibility and his alone.

Responding to Sheen's claim that he showed up at the set of his hit show "ready" to work, but the execs wouldn't let him, Richie said:

"I don't think he should make it somebody else's responsibility to keep him sober. That message was a little like 'you guys better give me something to do.' If he wants it [sobriety] to last for a long time it's up to him. He's an adult and he needs to take responsibility for his actions."

But Nicole wasn't the only one to have a response to Charlie's claims that the producers were keeping him from working.

On last night's episode, Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre posted a two-second card at the end of the episode that read, "I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers. If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."

The show is set to resume production at the end of the month.
