Orlando Bloom berlin germany premiere the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The Hobbits shall inherit the Earth! Or maybe just Middle Earth! Sexy actors Orlando Bloom, Aiden Turner and Jed Brophy teamed up with sexy lady Evangeline Lilly and director Peter Jackson for the Berlin premiere of their upcoming film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

For the sparkling premiere, Bloom, who plays the fair-haired elf Legolas in the LoTR and Hobbit series, donned a blue tuxedo, and was mostly smiles and a few awkward faces. Despite announcing his recent split from wife Miranda Kerr -- the British hunk appears in fine form!

Bloom's dazzling co-star, Lilly, who plays elf Tauriel in the film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkein's second novel, selected a gauzy, floor-length gown for the event.

Interestingly, Bloom's character was not featured in Tolkein's Hobbit series, however Jackson felt that bringing in Legolas was necessary.

"Legolas isn’t discussed in The Hobbit, but as far as Tolkien is concerned," said the three-time Oscar-winning director. "[Legolas] would have been part of that structure within the Woodland Realm. ...And we needed characters within the Woodland Realm to drive the story."

In the second film of the Hobbit trilogy, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Gandalf the Grey (Sir Ian McKellan) and the dwarves try to reclaim their homeland, Erebor from the dangerous dragon Smaug. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters Friday, Dec. 13.
